3 editions published in 1997 in English and held by 323 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

SPORTS Veteran sports film producer Greenspan narrows the focus from his 1995 book 100 Greatest Moments in Olympic History (General Pub. Group) to look at the winter sports. Fifty-six brief chapters, each accompanied by a photo, dramatize athletes in figure skating, speed skating, downhill skiing, bobsled, hockey, ski jumping, and more. Included are the famous (Katerina Witt, Jean-Claude Killy) and the obscure (Irv Jaffe, Anders Haugen), and Greenspan gives balanced treatment to American and foreign performers. Males outnumber females two to one. This book provides dramatic narrative that more results-oriented books, such as David Wallechinsky's Complete Book of the Winter Olympics (Little, Brown, 1993) or the Olympics Factbook (Visible Ink, 1992) only offer in small amounts. A good addition to public libraries where the Winter Olympics are popular. Kathy Ruffle, Coll. of New Caledonia Lib., Prince George, B.C.-
