The introduction (pp. 9-26) discusses the series of anti-democratic and antisemitic caricatures on small posters (most of them with the head of a well-known political figure of the time, with an animal's body) which were produced in 1899-1900 (possibly to 1901) and sold in kiosks under the title "Musée des Horreurs" and "Musée des Patriotes". Pp. 27-138 present the posters, with accompanying explanation for each one. The 51 posters in the "Musée des Horreurs" series were published under the pseudonym V. Lenepveu. Four posters were produced in the "Musée des Patriotes" series. Then, they were banned by the Ministry of Interior. The posters attack persons involved in the Dreyfus Affair and in the Panama scandal, and especially target high finance, represented by the Rothschild family. The non-Jews portrayed in the series are mainly true to life, but the Jews are distorted beyond recognition. The drawings of human heads on animal bodies speak for themselves; the posters also contain brief slogans, such as betrayal, corruption, and Jewish conspiracy
