Adam Smith : international perspectives by Hiroshi Mizuta( Book )

18 editions published between 1993 and 2014 in English and held by 189 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Adam Smith (1723-90) is well known as the author of The Wealth of Nations and as a champion of free enterprise but he also wrote on moral philosophy and lectured on rhetoric and jurisprudence. This collection reveals a new portrait of the well known economist, not as a simple-minded champion of free trade but as an interdisciplinary social scientist with a moral philosophy for the modern world. His legacy should not be restricted to economics and to the English-speaking world
A critical bibliography of Adam Smith by Hiroshi Mizuta( Book )

11 editions published between 2002 and 2016 in English and held by 109 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"This critical bibliography of Adam Smith records all published editions, abridgements, popularisations and translations, together with a survey of the literature of commentary and biography that grew up around these published works. The new edition replaces the existing 1939 catalogue of the Kress Library's Vanderblue Collection of Smithiana with a comprehensive record of the international reception of Adam Smith's writings, contributors from all major language areas providing both bibliographic information and commentary upon the developing historical understanding of Smith's work. By combining standardised bibliographic information with critical assessments of individual editions, this new work provides an indispensable foundation for scholars seeking an understanding of Smith's influence and the development of economic liberalism. The main bibliography is organised chronologically, allowing the reader to view the inter-relationships between different writings and texts. The introductory essay by Keith Tribe provides a survey of the diffusion of Smith's ideas through re-edition and translation, followed by a separate essay on the principle English-language editions. Each major language area is then dealt with in a separate essay by a recognised specialist, with particularly influential editions or translations discussed in detail. The editors have ensured that the international coverage is comprehensive, and is completed according to a standardised scholarly framework."

An inquiry into the nature and causes of the wealth of nations by Adam Smith( Book )

3 editions published between 1963 and 1975 in Japanese and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations (generally referred to by the short title The Wealth of Nations) is the masterpiece of the Scottish economist and moral philosopher Adam Smith. It was first published in 1776. It is an account of economics at the dawn of the Industrial Revolution, as well as a rhetorical piece written for the generally educated individual of the 18th century - advocating a free market economy as more productive and more beneficial to society. The book is often considered to have laid the basic groundwork for modern economic theory"--Wikipedia
