Giovanni Pietro Antonio Lebolo (1781-1830), son of Pietro and Marianna Meuta Lebolo, was a native of Castellamonte, Italy. His first wife was Maria Pollino Marchetto. He spent much time working on excavations in Egypt and later died in Castellamonte

The genealogy and ancestral lines of Antonio Lebolo (Joannes Petrus Antonius Lebolo), 1781-1830, from Castellamonte, Piedmont, Italy. He was employed by the French government to excavate Egyptian antiquities and (being authorized to take some artifacts for his personal collection) acquired eleven mummies and some papyrus--which eventually came into the possession of the Prophet Joseph Smith and the Church in Kirtland, Ohio, and part of the writings of Abraham contained therein later became part of the Pearl of Great Price
