Bericht des SS-und Polizeiführers über die Vernichtung der Juden Galiziens by Fritz Katzmann( Book )

20 editions published between 1959 and 1995 in German and Hebrew and held by 53 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The introduction describes the activities of General Fritz Katzmann, head of the SS in the Lvov district. He erected the Janowska camp in Lvov in which 100,000 Jews died, and he sent some half-million Galician Jews to the Bełżec extermination camp. Notes that in Galicia tens of thousands of Jews were shot by the SS immediately after the German invasion of June 1941, and that Katzmann had "solved the Jewish problem" in Galicia well before the Wannsee Conference. After the war Katzmann went into hiding; he died in 1957. Reproduces Katzmann's report of October 1942 on his measures against the "Jewish black market", drafting of Jews for forced labor, confiscation of valuables, discovery of bunkers of the Jewish resistance in Lvov, capture of Jewish partisans, "resettlement", and other "special treatment" of Jews. also reproduces the diary of Felix Landau, an SS officer who served in an "execution commando" in Drohobycz from 1941-44; in 1962 he was sentenced to life imprisonment

Das Vermögen der ermordeten Juden Europas : Dokumentensammlung by Towiah Friedman( Book )

15 editions published between 1961 and 1997 in German and held by 52 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

A collection of SS reports and directives, and testimony at war crimes trials on the Holocaust, chiefly in Poland (the Lublin area, Lodz, Warsaw, Galicia), but also in Austria, Slovakia, Greece, and Western Europe. These deal wholly or partly with the financial profit arising from the property taken from the deported or murdered Jews and from their forced labor. Includes detailed lists of usable goods, from money and precious metals to rags and women's hair: amounts, value, utilization; and calculations of the value of Jewish labor. A detailed analysis in February 1944 of the value of work performed in the Lodz ghetto concludes that it is uneconomical (the ghetto was liquidated in June). Includes descriptions of manhunts, the razing of ghettos and hiding-places, and Krueger's report on the battle of the Warsaw ghetto; all these also contain references to the goods seized as a result of the "action" (in the case of the Warsaw ghetto, bricks and other building materials)
