Marc Mimram : architecture & structure by Philip Jodidio( Book )

5 editions published between 2006 and 2015 in French and English and held by 25 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

A generously illustrated monograph on the acclaimed French architect and engineer Marc Mimram whose original work is influenced by both disciplines. Since his debut as an architect and engineer with a footbridge over a highway in Toulouse, France, Marc Mimram has completed a large number of civil engineering structures and architectural projects in France and around the world. This book highlights Mimram's distinctive penchant for connecting architecture with the natural world, as well as his profound understanding of the relationship between design and structure. Looking at key themes in Mimram's work over three decades, this volume examines works such as the School of Architecture in Strasbourg and the award-winning Hassan II Bridge in Morocco to show how the architect's elegant and economical designs evolve from an appreciation of the natural or urban landscape of each project

2 editions published in 2010 in French and held by 22 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Marc Mimram : structure/light, landscapes of gravity : through the lens of Erieta Attali by Marc Mimram( Book )

1 edition published in 2019 in English and held by 16 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Marc Mimram ( born 1955), the award-winning French architect and engineer, presents his work of architecture and structure through the lens of Erieta Attali (born 1966), world-renowned architectural photographer, who explores the relationship between human-made structures and the landscape. Architecture is often represented as a product or disembodied object. This view transforms inhabitants into spectators of an architecture that is dematerialized, delocalized, dehumanized and reduced into an image of itself. The collaboration between Mimram and Attali aims for an all-encompassing approach, placing the architecture within its time-frame and physical environment, rather than presenting mere glossy images of the projects. This three-volume publication builds a new visual vocabulary through which to interpret the structures. The social functionality of public architecture is addressed, largely absent in architectural photography and the communication of built space until now. The first volume focuses on a two-year photographic documentation of the construction of the Airtime building in Paris. The second volume presents an overview of Mimram's works around the world: bridges, train stations and academic institutions from France to Morocco and China. The third volume focuses on the newly redesigned venue for the French Open, Roland-Garros. With texts by Marc Mimram, Erieta Attali, Ariel Genadt, Jean Attali, Paul Chemetov, Zvi Hecker and Sir Peter Cook.--Amazon website

Erieta Attali : periphery : archaeology of light by Erieta Attali( Book )

1 edition published in 2018 in English and held by 12 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Erieta Attali (*1966, Tel Aviv) has devoted two decades to exploring the relationship between architecture and the landscape at the edges of the world. Attali's photography interrogates how extreme conditions and demanding terrains provoke humankind to re-orient and center itself through architectural responses. Her unrelenting and highly physical expedition has seen her traverse four continents, working in isolated and remote terrains from Iceland to the Indian Ocean. In Periphery Archaeology of Light, Attali references the essence of ancient Greek cartology in which the edges of maps represented the outer limits of the known world. Attali's poetic and metaphorical photographs, in which architecture is depicted as a natural feature, inseparable from its context, present visual maps of temporal and spatial transformations at the outposts of human existence. The photographic journey is accompanied by textual contributions from different fields: archaeology, architecture, and history of art, speaking to the idea of a geographical periphery
École nationale supérieure d'architecture de strasbourg Marc Mimram architecte ingénieur by Sophie Trelcat( Book )

1 edition published in 2013 in French and held by 9 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Gare Montpellier-Sud-de-France : Marc Mimram, architecture et ingénierie by Marc Mimram( Book )

3 editions published in 2019 in French and held by 6 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
