Templates in chemistry by Christoph A Schalley( )

22 editions published between 2004 and 2005 in English and held by 576 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Volume 1 intends to shed light on a selection of aspects of "template chemistry" by combining chapters from areas as different as templated solid state synthesis, metal-mediated self assembly processes, organometallic synthesis, the formation of mechanically interlocked molecules, and, last but not least, the production of inorganic materials based on organic templates such as gels. Volume 2 provides an even broader overview of and deeper insight into the template topic adding new aspects and new views
Templates in chemistry III by Peter Broekmann( )

17 editions published between 2005 and 2014 in English and Undetermined and held by 401 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The?rsttwovolumesinthis?TemplatesinChemistry?serieshavefocused on templates that controlsolution-phase reactions. Among the templates d- cussed in these two volumes were convex and concave templates that mediate the formation of (macro)cyclic molecules and mechanically bound molecules withtheir intriguingintertwined topology.Also,three-dimensional templates that are used to imprint polymers and that organize compounds in the solid state for predestined reactions have been included in the earlier volumes. In the present volume, we extend thetemplate topologytosurfaces that act asmatricesforthecontrolledgrowthoftwo-dimensionalarrays.Naturally,the typical methods for the characterization of surfaces such as scanning probe microscopyare prominently represented in this volume. Differentlateralinteractionssuchascoordinativebondsorhydrogenbo- ing play a major role in assembling the 2D networks on surfaces in addition to the interaction of the samples with the underlying substrates. Many p- nomena that are also encountered in solution can be directly visualized on surfaces: Reversible self-assembly processes lead to the formation of large structures through multiple recognition of small building blocks and cul- nate in the engineering of crystals in two dimensions. Self-sorting processes drive the formation of highly ordered arrays through the geometric ?t of the available components. Either the surface itself is the template, for example, when clusters grow on metal oxide ?lms, or colloidal templates control the formationof macroporousnetworksonthe substrate. This volume highlightsa selection of actual complementary aspects of s- facetemplates.Webelievethatthescopeandthevarietyoftopicscoveredinthis volume will attract readers fromdifferent communities such as supramole- larchemistry, materialsciences, surfacechemistry, surfacephysicsandsurface technologyandwehopetheywillenjoythisnewvolumeonTemplatesinCh- istry

Metal carbenes in organic synthesis by Karl Heinz Dötz( Book )

8 editions published between 2004 and 2011 in English and held by 182 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Metal carbene complexes have made their way from organometallic curiosities to valuable reagents and catalysts. They offer novel synthetic opportunities in carbon carbon bond formation based on either carbene-centered reactions or on metal-templated processes which makes them indispensable in modern synthetic methodology. The most prominent metal carbenes are now either commercially available or easy to synthesize and handle by modern laboratory techniques. This volume organized in eight chapters written by the leading scientists in the field illustrates the theoretical background, non-classical nucleophilic and cycloaddition patterns, chromium-templated benzannulation and photo-induced reactions, rhodium-catalyzed carbene transfer as well as the principles and applications of olefin metathesis which coined the progress in synthetic methodology over the past decade. Designed for researchers in academia and industry as well as graduate students it presents the state-of-the-art potential of carbene complexes in modern organic synthesis

Novel heterobimetallic manganese-chromium and rhenium-chromium complexes coordination, cyclometallation, benzannulation and haptotropic metal migration by Julien Dubarle Offner( Book )

1 edition published in 2009 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Amphiphilic sugar metal carbenes: from fischer type to N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) : Investigations on potential gelation and catalytic activities by Romain Germaneau( Book )

1 edition published in 2007 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
