In the winter of 1989, a mailback, contingent valuation survey was conducted to determine visitors' willingness to pay for bald eagle preservation at SRBENA. From the survey, discrete choice and continuous bid data were collected and analyzed. For the visitor willingness to pay estimation, the ordinary least squares and maximum likelihood estimation methods were applied. The economic data were combined with biological relationships for salmon and eagle production to develop a intertemporal, dynamic optimization model. This model was designed to determine long-run equilibrium conditions for salmon, eagles and visitors at SRBENA
