„Mit viel Klangphantasie, perfekt kontrolliertem Anschlag und genau dosiertem Einsatz des Pedals lässt Evgenia Rubinova die melodischen Linien aufblühen. Dabei ist ihr die wunderbare, wenig bekannte Klaviertranskription von Franz Liszt eine dankbare Vorlage. Der wusste eben, was auf dem Klavier funktioniert. Anders als bei manchen seiner Schubert-Transkriptionen, die teilweise sehr virtuos sind, hat sich Liszt bei seiner Bearbeitung von Beethovens "An die ferne Geliebte" zurückgehalten. Die Lieder bleiben in der Klavierfassung so innig, intim und berührend wie im Original. Evgenia Rubinova spielt sie in Liszts romantischem Geist, sehr gefühlvoll, dabei nie larmoyant. Viel direkter ist sie, passenderweise, bei Beethoven im Original“ (br-klassik.de)
