Alvar Aalto (1898-1976) is Finland's internationally best-known architect and designer. The exhibition catalogue 'Art and the modern form' examines his extensive personal connections, the interplay between various forms of art in his work, and the collaboration between Aalto and his wife, Aino Aalto, who as designers strove to create a new aesthetic for everyday life. The book also showcases art exhibitions organised by Artek - founded by Aaltos, Maire Gullichsen and Nils-Gustav Hahl in 1935 - and the artworks that were purchased from these exhibitions by Ateneum Art Museum. The most prominent artists featured therein included Hans Arp, László Moholy-Nagy, Fernand Léger and Alexander Calder. Exhibition: Finnish National Gallery / Ateneum Art Museum, Helsinki, Finland (11.05.-24.09.2017)

Quantum approach to informatics by Stig Stenholm( Book )

1 edition published in 2005 in English and held by 12 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Quantum Approach to Informatics fills the need for a concise introduction to this burgeoning new field, offering an intuitive approach for readers in both the physics and information science communities, as well as in related fields. Only a basic background in quantum theory is required, and the text keeps the focus on bringing this theory to bear on contemporary informatics. Instead of proofs and other highly formal structures, detailed examples present the material, making this a uniquely accessible introduction to quantum informatics."

1 edition published in 2016 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Artek and the Aaltos: Creating a Modern World" will be the first book in the English language on the topic and the most comprehensive to date, drawing its research materials primarily from the archives of Alvar Aalto's architectural firm and Artek. It will expand on the exhibition of the same name through twelve chapters, anchored by essays written by leading scholars of design and architectural history, including Harry Charrington, Juhani Pallasmaa, and Susanna Pettersson, and specific studies of Artek's interior projects, which will include previously unpublished materials. Lavish photography will present the broad range of works on display, many illustrated for the first time, and will provide an unprecedented visual record of the substantial contributions made by Artek to modern interiors, art, and furnishings"--
