An angel at my table : a trilogy by Jane Campion( Visual )

14 editions published between 1990 and 2005 in English and held by 594 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Based on the autobiographies of New Zealand author Janet Frame, this three part mini-series traces the first forty years of Frame's life from her childhood years in the twenties through the incorrect diagnosis of her acute shyness as being a symptom of schizophrenia, which led to eight years of electric shock treatment in a mental institution, to her sojourn in Europe on a literary grant, the film ending with Frame's return to New Zealand in 1964. Campion structures the film elliptically but lucidly in a series of short scenes, an approach at its most stricking in the first two parts. The success of the series is in no small measure due to the casting of the three actors as Janet in childhood, adolescence and adulthood

Dr. Roger Payne presents a view of oceans as finite bodies of water--a view diametrically opposed to preconceptions about the "limitless" seas into which we discard vast quantities of toxic, industrial wastes (immortal synthetic poisons). Learn how small concentrations of pollutants such as DDT, PCBs and pesticides threaten ecosystems at all levels. While it's early to see the effects of chemicals we produce on the oceans, we can clearly see their effects on the large bodies of fresh water such as the Great Lakes.
