Contains the history of the author from his initial kidnapping from Aberdeen, his years of indenture in Philadelphia, his time as a free and married man, to his captivity among the Indians, and the manner of his escape. Once free Williamson decided to enlist in order to take his revenge on the Indians and so found himself at Oswego and involved in the French and Indian war. Added to all this is a short dissertation on kidnapping, an account of the proceedings of the magistrates of Aberdeen against Williamson on his return to Scotland, a brief history of his process against them before the Court of Session, and a "particular description of the Indian tomahawk"
