Integrable systems and quantum groups : lectures given at the 1st session of the Centro internazionale matematico estivo (C.I.M.E.)
held in Montecatini Terme, Italy, June 14-22, 1993 by
Ron Donagi(
Book
)
30 editions published between 1995 and 2006 in English and German and held by 539 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
The aim of this CIME Session was to review the state of the art in the recent development of the theory of integrable systems and their relations with quantum groups. The purpose was to gather geometers and mathematical physicists to allow a broader and more complete view of these attractive and rapidly developing fields. The papers contained in this volume have at the same time the character of survey articles and of research papers, since they contain both a survey of current problems and a number of original contributions to the subject

Natural and gauge natural formalism for classical field theories : a geometric perspective including spinors and gauge theories by
Lorenzo Fatibene(
Book
)
12 editions published in 2003 in English and held by 152 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
In this book the authors develop and work out applications to gravity and gauge theories and their interactions with generic matter fields, including spinors in full detail. Spinor fields in particular appear to be the prototypes of truly gauge-natural objects, which are not purely gauge nor purely natural, so that they are a paradigmatic example of the intriguing relations between gauge natural geometry and physical phenomenology. In particular, the gauge natural framework for spinors is developed in this book in full detail, and it is shown to be fundamentally related to the interaction between fermions and dynamical tetrad gravity

Recent developments in general relativity by
B Casciaro(
)
7 editions published between 2000 and 2002 in English and held by 135 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
The book is the result of the Italian conference on General Relativity, held in Italy in September 1998. One of the main features of this conference has been to bring together mathematicians and physicists, experts in different fields: General Relativity, Variational and Topological methods, Differential Geometry, Astrophysics. Classical and Quantum aspects of General Relativity have been debated and various new results have been presented. Perspectives on the search of Gravitational waves have been illustrated. These methods permit to study the geodesical connectedness of space-times and to relate to topological properties to the multiplicity of the geodesics joining two given events. Critical point Morse theory has been used to study light rays on Lorentzian manifolds and to interpret the gravitational lensing effect
