Harmonic analysis on the Heisenberg group by Sundaram Thangavelu( Book )

15 editions published in 1998 in English and held by 345 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The aim of this text is to demonstrate how the standard results of abelian harmonic analysis take shape in the non-abelian setup of the Heisenberg group. Several results in this monograph appear for the first time in book form, and some theorems have not appeared elsewhere. The detailed discussion of the representation theory of the Heisenberg group goes well beyond the basic Stone-von Neumann theorem, and its relations to classical special functions is invaluable for any reader interested in this group. Topics covered include the Plancherel and Paley-Wiener theorems, spectral theory of the sublaplacian, Wiener-Tauberian theorems, Bochner-Riesz means and multipliers for the Fourier transform. Thangavelu's exposition is clear and well developed, and leads to several problems worthy of further consideration. Any reader who is interested in pursuing research on the Heisenberg group will find this unique and self-contained text invaluable

An introduction to the uncertainty principle : Hardy's theorem on Lie groups by Sundaram Thangavelu( Book )

15 editions published between 2003 and 2004 in English and held by 309 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"The central theme and motivation of this monograph is the development of analogs of Hardy's Theorem in settings that arise from noncommutative harmonic analysis. Specifically, the book is devoted in part to variations of the mathematical Uncertainty Principle - Hardy's Theorem is one interpretation - which states that a function and its Fourier transform cannot simultaneously be very small
Quantization and arithmetic by Andre Unterberger( )

3 editions published in 2008 in English and held by 23 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"The primary aim of this book is to create situations in which the zeta function, or other L-functions, will appear in spectral-theoretic questions. A secondary aim is to connect pseudo-differential analysis, or quantization theory, to analytic number theory. Both are attained through the analysis of operators on functions on the line by means of their diagonal matrix elements against families of arithmetic coherent states: these are families of discretely supported measures on the line, transforming in specific ways under the part of the metaplectic representation or, more generally, representations from the discrete series of SL(2,R), lying above an arithmetic group such as SL(2,Z)." "The book is addressed to a wide audience of advanced graduate students and researchers working in analytic number theory, pseudo-differential analysis or quantization theory."--Jacket

The heat kernel transform for the Heisenberg group by Bernhard Krötz( Book )

2 editions published in 2005 in English and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Abstract: "The heat kernel transform H[subscript t] is studied for the Heisenberg group in detail. The main result shows that the image of H[subscript t] is a direct sum of two weighted Bergman spaces, in contrast to the classical case of R[superscript n] and compact symmetric spaces, and the weight functions are found to be (surprisingly) not non-negative."
An Extension problem and trace hardy inequality for the sublaplacian on H-Type goups by Luz Roncal( )

2 editions published in 2017 in English and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

In this paper we study the extension problem for the sublaplacian on a H-type group and use the solutions to prove trace Hardy and Hardy inequalities for fractional powers of the sublaplacian
