La société informationnelle : enjeux sociaux et approches économiques by Anne Mayère( Book )

6 editions published in 1997 in French and held by 97 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

2 editions published in 2003 in French and held by 4 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

2 editions published in 1988 in French and held by 4 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

2 editions published in 2006 in French and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The aim of this thesis is to contribute to a better understanding of the communication processes through which management tools structure organisations. What meanings are produced and reproduced during the circulation of accounting and management documents in businesses ? The field work addressed the budgetary process of building sites in two subsidiaries of a business in the building sector. The first part studies the regulations that structure the processes of producing budgetary information. These processes are constituted by a set of activities which contribute to the development of a provisional budget document for a site and which periodically analyse the differences between the forecasts and the outcomes. These regulations give rise to an organizational invention, a production of texts in and on the procedure. The notion of fabrique du budget emphasizes the fact that a budget appears in the form of hybrid documents which are multiply addressed and multiply backed up. This budget undergoes many transformations during its development and finalization by various actors. The second part studies how this textual system structures face-to-face interactions. The observations was carried out during monthly meetings dedicated to the budget in order to check the outcomes, measure shortfalls and decide corrective actions. It analyses the production of an interpretation at least partially shared between the operational and the management frameworks different in their terminologies, their aims and their justifications. The notion of actes de calcul enables understanding of how the language of numbers exerts a practical effect which intervenes during the dynamic interplay between communication processes and the production of documents. There are processes of interaction and positioning with respect to the rules for producing accounts, whose analysis brings out important characteristics of contemporary management. The budget is a method of decision and control, but it is also the result of an informational process that follows its own norms, such as the norms of the aesthetic of accounts and the display of managerial competence

2 editions published in 2013 in French and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The aviation industry has encountered numerous socio-technical transformations that have multiplied due to the contemporary climate of globalisation of economies. Pilots' and air-traffic controllers' information production and communication activities, which are essential to the air navigation activity, are particularly affected. In this paper, the theory of activity (Engeström, 1987) will be used to study the technology-organisation-system articulation. This should provide a deeper understanding of the interweaving of technical systems that are continuously more standardized and standardizing, established by international and national authorities, and that have to be implemented locally. Using the architext approach (Jeanneret, 1999), this research questions the communication model as it is registered and prescribed in the technical systems of pilots' and air-traffic controllers' exchanges. Moreover, it identifies, in light of observable practices, some resulting key questions at the level of piloting and air traffic control activities

2 editions published in 2011 in French and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Through this thesis, and via a communicational approach, we study organisational change which contributes to what is called "supplier development". We question this evolution as an organizational rationalization process. More precisely, we explore this particular process in the aeronautical !eld, especially in what is commonly designated by the supply chain, constituted by customer - SME supplier relationships. Main evolutions in the aeronatical !eld have resulted in the dislocation of production which is characterized by the emergence of an industrial network in charge of aircrafts production, hence resulting in renewed issues in terms of coordination of coproduction. The "supplier development" movement is partly embodied by customer consultants/engineers interventions which are related to the introduction and initiation of an implementation of management tools-methods to SME's managers. Our communicational approach of this "supplier development work" is based on ACO (Bouillon, Bourdin, et Loneux, 2007) as well as on structuration theory (Giddens, 1984). Considering this framework analysis, we study consultants' interventions as interactional scenes targeting a speci!c organizational change within which we specify the logics involved and what is at stake. As we analyse the tools-methods in their media function (Verbeek, 2006) and question the tensioning between organisation and toolsmethods in regard to an extended conception of agency (Cooren, 2006, 2010), we envision the "proposition - disposition - opposition" dynamic form of interactional scenes (Bougnoux, 2001). Finally, this study shows how the process of "gestionnarisation", of organizational rationalisation of SME supplier, occurs through communication

2 editions published in 2015 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

2 editions published between 2014 and 2015 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

1 edition published in 2011 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

In French health service, the quality issue has been deeply related to the economic control of the public expenditure by the State. Consequently what is at stake is to reconcile health cost decreasing and preservation of quality care practices. In reference to the establishment of total quality management in health service, Ogien (2009) emphasizes the ambivalence of the notion of "quality" which can mean either something that can be measured (quantity) or something that defies any forms of measure (quality). To continue this theory, but by focusing on communicational process more especially, I studied a process of certification in a healthcare organization. I tried to call into question this tension between a quality comprehended in a deontological way, and a quality considered as a tool of management. Our study was composed of two stages. First we focused on the accreditation book and we determinated how the word "quality" was divided into three complementary figures. Subsequently, I tried to understand how medical employees dealt with the process of certification and how the figures of quality were worked. Then the figures of quality were mutually discussed, which generated "organization work" (de Terssac 2002). I postulated this organization work relied on process of translation between a global text of quality (the certification one) and a local one (the organization one) (Taylor et Van Every, 2001). Then I considered the organization work at stake in the communicational process as a work on the malleability of the texts and as a reconfiguration work of figures. I tried to determine the processes of "sensemaking" in the heart of the total quality management as reflexive processes and processes of sense regulation. I analyzed these movements by which medical employees tried to conform to the certification text, to distort it and to reapproriate it

2 editions published in 2015 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Our research about computerized equipment of annotations and professional writing practices has articulated Computer Sciences and Communication and Information Sciences in order for us to develop a software prototype for the support of organisation of care in oncology thanks to an empirical and longitudinal study. This articulation has relied on 4 years long of multimodal ethnography, a conceptualization based upon Grounded Theory rules, a model and a software development that we iteratively conduct simultaneously with this qualitative inquiry. This original combination of methodologies from different domains has been remarkably rich to help us build a specific point of view about oncology hospital organizations, and about the accomplishment of care work and about patients' management in these complex professional organizations. The modern medical and hospital rationalizations, including ICT and e-health tools, are in the confluence of various movements that impact upon several elements of hospital organizations, and upon medical and care practices. We focused our study on the situated writing practices of caregivers and specifically on the richness of the materiality of writings that led us to question notions such as information systems, collective and distributed production of knowledge, and the documentary production cycles for the organization of activity. We are making the hypothesis that annotations can be opportunely considered as constitutive elements in the production of "organizational texts" that are in the core of the support of the organization and the realization of collective and individual work. Caregivers rely on these "organizational texts" that they build, actualize and stabilize thanks to what we call the "annotative practice" that enables them to apprehend their complex environments of work, and to handle the dynamics and the variety of situations and to manage patients. We will show how the characterization of this "annotative practice" helped us to develop a simple, robust and open software model. We will detail the iterative process between inquiry, analysis, conceptualizations and developments that led us to stabilize our model and our web prototype that implement this annotative practice. We will conclude our work by showing that this prototype, thanks to the numerous context displays of annotations networks, thanks to its flexibility and evolutivity achieves the support of the collective organization of patients' care in oncology, as much as it seems to be relevant in other exploitation context of collective organization of work

2 editions published in 2017 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The land-use planning in France, and specifically the making process of planning documents, evolve both in a distinct and common way due to the effects of the rationalization of public policies, the State devolution of power and the transformations of land management issues. The actors involved in planning must mediate numerous conflicts of land-use, in compliance with multiple and even contradictory laws and directives. In this context, we observed a training project developed via an inter-organizational collaboration involving agents from decentralized departments of different Ministries, as well as agents belonging to a research organization. The agents were concerned about the preservation of cultivated or potentially cultivatable soil. Facing the limitation of their capacity to act, they sought toways of acting remotely through this project. Our research explores the organizing processes that constitute a transverse organization. It shows how a scaffolding was gradually built up at the "border" between different arenas in order to equip the recipients of the training module with data, elements of method, organizational "ways-of-thinking" and "ways-to-see". Thus it characterizes this collaboration as part of a perspective based on evidence based planning and on the big data movement. Our research is anchored in an information-communication approach. It works on questions of rawification and of making data sets compatible. It explores how a generic prescription fails in situed re-singularization. It highlights key issues, linked to the big data movement, in terms of sense making, sense conceived both as meaning and as orientation of action
