Memorials to Augustus William Ware (b.1792) and his wife, Maria (Leycester) Ware, and his brother, Julius Ware (b.1795), as compiled by a son of Augustus and Maria. Augustus and Julius were authors of a work entitled "Guesses at truth." The Hare and Leycester families both descended from ancestors back to the 1200s living in or near the parish of Hurstmonceaux in Sussex County, England. Augustus and Maria married in 1829, and he served as a clergyman at Hurstmonceaux. Much of v. 1 contains family letters from one to another of the above three, or to some family friend
