Rehabilitation Associate Training for Employed Staff. Reducing and Eliminating Behavior (Ra-9) by Mary E Jensen( Book )

2 editions published in 1982 in English and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This learning module, which is intended for use in in-service training for vocational rehabilitation counselors, deals with methods and procedures for eliminating or reducing client behavioral problems that may be interfering with the vocational rehabilitation process. The following topics are covered: ways of blocking or changing environments (including the use of restraints); extinction; reinforcement to reduce behaviors (differential reinforcement of incompatible response [dri], differential reinforcement of other behaviors [dro], and differential reinforcement of low rates of behavior [drl]); punishment (time out, overcorrection, response cost, and satiation); and ethics. Four self-tests are also included. (Mn)
Rehabilitation Associate Training for Employed Staff. Behavior Observation and Measurement (Ra-5) by Michael W Trace( Book )

1 edition published in 1982 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This learning module, which is intended for use in in-service training for vocational rehabilitation counselors, reviews the systematic methods available to measure and record client behavior. The first section covers procedures for making necessary calculations and keeping needed records with respect to behavioral events and their duration and interval. Also covered in the first section are procedures for use in time sampling, calculating a placheck (a term derived from the words "planned, ""activity," and "check"), continuous recording, and developing permanent products. The second section deals with reliability for event and duration data and for interval and time sampling. Sample charts and graphs developed from various types of raw client observation data are presented. Five self-tests are also included. (Mn)
Rehabilitation Associate Training for Employed Staff. Teaching New Behavior (Ra-7) by Mary E Jensen( Book )

1 edition published in 1982 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This learning module, which is intended for use in inservice training for vocational rehabilitation counselors, deals with procedures for teaching clients behaviors that they are not presently exhibiting. The following training strategies are covered: prompting (verbal prompts, modeling, and physical guidance); fading; discrimination training; shaping; chaining (performing a total task, forward chaining, and backward chaining); and additional strategies of imitation training, generalization training, and response differentiation. The procedures described can be applied in the teaching of skills needed in the following areas: independent living, vocational, pre-academic, socialization, and language. The module provides an opportunity for users to write and implement programs and use the techniques presented. Four self-tests are also included. (Mn)
Rehabilitation Associate Training for Employed Staff. Increasing Existing Behavior (Ra-6) by Mary E Jensen( Book )

1 edition published in 1982 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This learning module, which is intended for use in in-service training for vocational rehabilitation counselors, deals with methods of increasing client behaviors that do not occur often or fast enough. The following topics are discussed: basic approaches to increasing the extent and frequency of desired behaviors; ways of changing environment; and reinforcement, including determining reinforcers, using different categories of reinforcers (activities, tangibles, and social reinforcers), selecting and delivering reinforcers, and using negative reinforcement. The text reviews basic strategies and provides an opportunity for supervised application of the techniques described. Two self-tests are also included. (Mn)

Rehabilitation Associate Training for Employed Staff. Maintaining Behavior (Ra-8) by Mary E Jensen( Book )

1 edition published in 1982 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This learning module, which is intended for use in in-service training for vocational rehabilitation counselors, outlines strategies for maintaining appropriate client behaviors and facilitating their generalization to other environments. The information presented is relevant for existing behaviors as well as for behavior to be taught, increased, or reduced in the future. The first section defines the concepts of maintenance and generalization. The next section deals with the following aspects of maintenance: procedures for changing reinforcement schedules, methods of reducing reinforcement, ratio schedules of reinforcement, and interval schedules of reinforcement. The section on generalization covers ways of changing reinforcers, delaying reinforcers, training supervisors, and changing conditions. Two self-tests are also included. (Mn)
