There is a report on the tour in Westland July 2004 page 13 (with a couple of photographs) and the official WAGR notice of it is in Weekly Notice 25, 1968 page 765

Jimmy Woods acquired de Havilland Mosquito A52-319 from the War Disposals Commission to use in the 1953 London to Christchurch Air Race. It was re-registered VH-WAD and named 'The Quokka'. The venture failed from lack of finance and the aircraft was left derelict at Perth International airport until sold to an American. The sale failed and the aircraft was eventually acquired by De Havilland Australia and is undergoing restoration in NSW. (Information supplied by D. Eyre Feb. 2014)
