When Geordie and a shy crewman, Barclay, check it out, the probe emits and energy surge, which knocks Barclay out. When he recovers, Barclay takes charge of the situation, eliminating the probe. Geordie is sure this new-found confidence is due to the probe -- but how ... and why?
