Harry Callahan : Retrospektive = [Harry Callahan] : retrospective by Harry M Callahan( Book )

9 editions published in 2013 in German and English and held by 207 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Harry Callahan (1912 - 1999) is regarded as one of the most innovative and influential 20th-century American photographers. By amplifying the abstract tendencies of New Vision in a lyrical mode evincing great sensitivity, he was able to overcome the prevailing realist aesthetic in American photography. Callahan was one of the few innovators of modern American photography noted as much for his work in color as for his work in black and white. The exhibition catalog presents Callahan's multifaceted photographic œuvre, the product of tireless and prolific creative labors over the course of nearly sixty years. With nearly 200 works it shows the entire spectrum of Callahan's production, including the rarely shown color works. The works come from the Estate of Harry Callahan, Courtesy Pace / MacGill Gallery, New York, and from the F.C. Gundlach Collection, Hamburg."--Publisher's website

Picasso in der Kunst der Gegenwart = Picasso in contemporary art by Pablo Picasso( Book )

6 editions published in 2015 in German and English and held by 129 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

No artist of the 20th century enjoys as much attention in the public eyes of Pablo Picasso, no other artist is given the same level of attention to the form and the expressive power of his works, no other artist attracts such a large number of visitors to the museums. And since 1912 - since 'Hommage à Picasso', the cubist Picasso Portrait by Juan Gris - the work of Pablo Picasso is challenge and incentive alike for a wide variety of artists. For generations, 'Demoisselles d'Avignon'(1907)' or 'Guernica' (1937) have been adopted, are appropriated in the most diverse ways, no matter what approaches the respective artists themselves might otherwise have pursued thus far. It is the inexhaustible imagination and scope in Picasso's work that challenges artists, between abstraction and figure, artistic creativity and politically intended statement, to ever-new exciting dialogues. The voluminous book is published on the occasion of the eponymous exhibition for the reopening of the renovated Halle für aktuelle Kunst as the culmination of the 25th anniversary exhibition of the Deichtorhallen
Santiago Sierra : Skulptur, Fotografie, Film = Sculpture, photography, film by Santiago Sierra( Book )

7 editions published in 2013 in German and held by 128 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

0Exhibition: Kunsthalle Tübingen, Germany (23.03.-16.06.2013) / Deichtorhallen Hamburg, Sammlung Falckenberg, Germany (07.09.2013-12.01.2014). 0
Proof : Francisco Goya, Sergei Eisenstein, Robert Longo by Robert Longo( Book )

3 editions published in 2017 in English and held by 127 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Featuring works by Francisco Goya, Sergei Eisenstein and Robert Longo, 'Proof' offers insight into the singularity of vision through which artists can reflect the social, cultural and political complexities of their times. Spanning eras and continents, each of these artists witnessed the turbulent transition from one century to another, experiencing the seismic impacts of revolution, civil rights movements and war. While Goya served church and king, Eisenstein the state, and Longo emerged during the rise of the contemporary art market--the dominant benefactors of each period--they all rose to prominence through developing nuanced practices that challenged expectations

Sammlung Viehof : internationale Kunst der Gegenwart = Viehof collection : international contemporary art by Deichtorhallen Hamburg( Book )

5 editions published in 2016 in German and held by 82 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Deichtorhallen Hamburg presents one of the most significant German private collections of contemporary art at two locations, the Hall for Contemporary Art and the Falckenberg Collection in Hamburg-Harburg. The Viehof Collection, which includes important works from the Speck Collection and the Rheingold Collection, brings together over 950 works in painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, installations, and video with an emphasis on German art from the post-war era to today. Both catalog and exhibition focus on outstanding groups of work by individual artists including Georg Baselitz, Joseph Beuys, Candida Höfer, Jörg Immendorff, Sigmar Polke, Daniel Richter and Rosemarie Trockel. As far as possible, the presentation of larger bodies of work will be devised with participation of artists to develop a dialogue between artistic and curated spaces. This comprehensive exhibition in Hamburg, put together entirely from the works of the collection and curated by Dirk Luckow, reveals for the first time the extraordinary range of this collection in an overview of Minimalism, represented by names such as Carl Andre and Dan Flavin, via the 1980s in Cologne defined by Walter Dahn, Georg Herold, Martin Kippenberger and Albert Oehlen, the Düsseldorf School of Photography with Struth, Ruff and Sasse right up to the promising field of figurative art of the 21st century showcasing works by André Butzer, Peter Doig, Thomas Houseago, Jonathan Meese, Neo Rauch, Tal R, Corinne Wasmuth and many others. Other artists included: Siegfried Anzinger, Stephan Balkenhol, Marcel Broodthaers, James Lee Byars, Mircea Cantor, Tony Cragg, Elger Esser, Peter Feldmann, Günther Förg, Eberhard Havekost, Erwin Heerich, Jonathan Horowitz, Robert Indiana, Christian Jankowski, Hubert Kiecol, Per Kirkeby, Wiliam Kentridge, Imi Knoebel, Jannis Kounellis, Mark Leckey, Josephine Meckseper, Jonathan Meese, Meuser, Mario Merz, Boris Mikhailov, Juan Muñoz, Hermann Nitsch, Julian Opie, Jorge Pardo, Pavel Pepperstein, Manfred Pernice, Raymond Pettibon, Otto Piene, Peter Piller, Arnulf Rainer, Tobias Rehberger, Daniel Richter, Bojan Sarcevic, Markus Schinwald, Gregor Schneider, Corinna Schnitt, Thomas Schütte, Norbert Schwontkowski, Cindy Sherman, Michael Smith, Kim Sooja, Beat Streuli, Andreas Siekmann, Wolfgang Tillmans, Günther Uecker, Joep van Lieshout, Dan Vo, Jeff Wall, Andy Warhol, Zink Yi, Thomas Zipp"--Publisher's website
Secret signs : zeitgenössische chinesische Kunst im Namen der Schrift = Secret signs : Calligraphy in Chinese contemporary art( Book )

Anselm Reyle : mystic silver by Anselm Reyle( Book )

5 editions published in 2012 in 3 languages and held by 77 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Antony Gormley : Horizon field Hamburg by Antony Gormley( Book )

7 editions published in 2012 in 3 languages and held by 75 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
