The Oxford handbook of applied Bayesian analysis by Anthony O'Hagan( )

17 editions published between 2010 and 2018 in English and held by 1,424 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Exploring contemporary Bayesian analysis across a variety of application areas, chapters written by leading exponents of applied Bayesian analysis showcase the scientific ease and natural application of Bayesian modelling, and present solutions to real, engaging, societally important and demanding problems. The Handbook is grouped into five general areas: Biomedical & Health Sciences; Industry, Economics & Finances; Environment & Ecology; Policy, Political & Social Sciences; and Natural & Engineering Sciences. Appendices concluding each chapter draw out key concepts, models, and techniques that are also of broader pedagogic and applied interest. This Handbook will be of interest and use to statisticians and quantitative researchers requiring a broad overview of the applications of Bayesian Statistics, or those interested in solutions to specific problems. It will be a major reference source for teachers and students in a wide variety of fields and aims to inspire researchers to venture further into these exciting and challenging application areas"--Jacket
Bayesian forecasting and dynamic models by Mike West( Book )

42 editions published between 1989 and 2013 in English and held by 1,397 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The principles, models and methods of Bayesian forecasting have been developed extensively during the last twenty years. Much progress has been made with mathematical and statistical aspects of forecasting models and related techniques, and experience has been gained through application in a variety of areas in commercial and industrial, scientific and socio-economic fields. Indeed much of the technical development has been driven by the needs of forecasting practitioners. There now exists a relatively complete statistical and mathematical framework that is described and illustrated here for the first time in book form, presenting our view of this approach to modelling and forecasting. The book provides a self-contained text for advanced university students and research workers in business, economic and scientific disciplines, and forecasting practitioners. The material covers mathematical and statistical features of Bayesian analyses of dynamic models, with illustrations, examples and exercises in each chapter. In order that the ideas and techniques of Bayesian forecasting be accessible to students, research workers and practitioners alike, the book includes a number of examples and case studies involving real data, generously illustrated using computer generated graphs. These examples provide issues of modelling, data analysis and forecasting

Time series : modeling, computation, and inference by Raquel Prado( Book )

13 editions published between 2010 and 2018 in English and held by 255 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Focusing on Bayesian approaches and computations using up-to-date simulation-based methods for inference, Time Series: Modeling, Computation, and Inference integrates mainstream approaches for time series modeling with significant recent developments in methodology and applications of time series analysis. It encompasses a graduate-level account of Bayesian time series modeling and analysis, a broad range of references to state-of-the-art approaches to univariate and multivariate time series analysis, and emerging topics at research frontiers. The book presents overviews of several classes of models and related methodology for inference, statistical computation for model fitting and assessment, and forecasting. The authors also explore the connections between time- and frequency-domain approaches and develop various models and analyses using Bayesian tools, such as Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) and sequential Monte Carlo (SMC) methods. They illustrate the models and methods with examples and case studies from a variety of fields, including signal processing, biomedicine, and finance. Data sets, R and MATLAB® code, and other material are available on the authors' websites. Along with core models and methods, this text offers sophisticated tools for analyzing challenging time series problems. It also demonstrates the growth of time series analysis into new application areas."--Publisher's description
Case Studies in Bayesian Statistics : Volume IV by Constantine Gatsonis( )

2 editions published between 1999 and 2002 in English and held by 108 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

While most of the case studies in this volume come from biomedical research, the reader will also find studies in environmental science and marketing research. The 4th Workshop on Case Studies in Bayesian Statistics was held at Carnegie-Mellon University September 27-28, 1997. As in the past, the workshop featured both invited and contributed case studies. The former were presented in detail while the latter were presented in poster format. This volume contains the four invited case studies with the accompanying discussion as well as nine contributed papers selected by a refereeing process
