Harri Webb had a reputation as a journalist long before he became famous as a poet. He edited The Welsh Republican in the 1950s and later Plaid Cymru's newspaper, Welsh Nation. This selection of his political writings reflects both his Socialism and Nationalism. His acerbic wit and wide erudition, together with passionate concern for the economic and cultural life of Wales, are seen here at their most brilliant. For more than thirty years, Harri Webb devoted himself to the ideal of Welsh Independence. He detested the Tories, criticized the Labour Party for failing to deliver self-government, and chivvied Plaid Cymru whenever it did not act as a movement of national liberation. This book is essential reading for all who are involved in radical politics in Wales today
