The European information society : taking geoinformation science one step further by Association of Geographic Information Laboratories in Europe( )

4 editions published in 2008 in English and held by 386 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"This book comprises innovative research presented at the 11th Conference of the Association of Geographic Information Laboratories for Europe (AGILE), held in 2008 in Girona, Spain. The scientific papers cover a variety of fundamental research topics as well as applied research in Geoinformation Science including measuring spatiotemporal phenomena, quality and semantics, spatiotemporal analysis and modelling, spatiotemporal decision support, and spatial information infrastructures." "The book is aimed at researchers, practitioners, and students who work in various fields and disciplines related to Geoinformation Science and GI technology."--BOOK JACKET
Solar variability and climate : proceedings of an ISSI Workshop, 28 June-2 July 1999, Bern, Switzerland by E Friis-Christensen( Book )

10 editions published between 2000 and 2001 in English and held by 72 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The variability of the Sun is well established, as well as that of the Earth's climate. To what extent the two are connected, in the sense that solar variability drives climate, is the subject of considerable research and, in some cases, controversy. This volume is aimed at obtaining an overview of the current knowledge of the variability of the Sun and of the Earth's climate, and of their possible connections. It is a collection of introductory and contributed papers presented at an ISSI workshop, supplemented by a summary of the discussion sessions and a workshop, thus giving a coherent overview while still conveying the lively spirit that prevailed at the workshop. The volume is intended to provide the active researcher with an up-to-date status report while at the same time serving the advanced graduate student with introductory material in this field of research
The great global warming swindle( Visual )

2 editions published in 2007 in English and held by 70 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Challenges the current premise of global warming, suggesting that the chief cause of climate change is not human activity, but changes in radiation from the sun. Scientists in the film set forth scientific and historical proofs to support their arguments and claim that global warming advocates have created a mass hysteria that has no basis in reality. They also examine the censorship and intimidation experienced by dissenting scientists, perpetrated by political and environmental activists who have an economic stake in the debate. The film also looks at the economic costs of a movement to discourage development in Third World Countries by those who claim industrializaton is a primary cause of global warming

Interplanetary magnetic sector polarity inferred from polar geomagnetic field observations [by] Eigel Friis-Christensen [and others] by Eigil Friis-Christensen( Book )

6 editions published in 1971 in English and Danish and held by 7 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

With the use of a prediction technique it is shown that the polarity (toward or away from the sun) of the interplanetary magnetic field can be reliably inferred from observations of the polar geomagnetic field. (Author)
