Neurodegenerative diseases are progressive pathologies that affect the nervous system, causing the death of nerve cells. The best known and most frequent are Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease, but there are others. All these diseases are characterized by the progressive loss of neurons of the nervous system, leading to cognitive, motor or perceptual complications. Parkinson's disease (PD) is caused by the degeneration of dopaminergic neurons of the substantia nigra and their nerve endings that normally release dopamine into the striatum. The two main risk factors common to neurodegenerative diseases are age and oxidative stress. Oxidative stress plays a central role in the pathophysiology of PD, but the mechanisms involved in controlling this stress in dopaminergic cells are not fully elucidated. Many studies show that selenoproteins play a central role in the control of redox homeostasis and cell protection, but the precise contribution of members of this family of proteins during neurodegenerative diseases is still unknown. Previous studies performed in our laboratory have uncovered the essential role of a new selenoprotein, selenoprotein T (SelT) in the processes of neuronal differentiation, but the role of this selenoprotein in neuroprotection was not known. We first showed that SelT, whose gene knock-out is lethal during embryogenesis, exerts a potent thioredoxin-like oxidoreductase activity. In a cellular model of dopaminergic neurons, represented by SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cells, modification of SelT expression affects the level of oxidative stress and cell survival. Treatment of wild-type mice by neurotoxins targeting dopaminergic neurons such as 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP) or rotenone induced massive expression of SelT in the nigro-striatal system, suggesting that SelT could protect these neurons under conditions of degeneration. On the other hand, this same treatment given in mice invalidated for SelT in the brain caused a parkinsonian syndrome with the appearance of motor symptoms, thus confirming that the presence of SelT must participate in the protection of dopaminergic neurons under conditions mimiking PD. The observed motor symptoms are associated with oxidative stress and marked degeneration of dopaminergic neurons. Similarly, we observed a decrease in the active form of tyrosine hydroxylase, resulting in reduced dopamine levels in the striatum of invalidated and neurotoxin-treated mice. These data show that SelT is essential for the survival and functionality of dopaminergic neurons in vitro and in vivo under the conditions of neurodegeneration mimicking PD. Finally, in patients with PD, we observed a considerable increase in SelT levels in the caudate-putamen but not in other cerebral structures. Together, these results uncovered the activity of a novel thioredoxin-like enzyme that protects dopaminergic neurons against oxidative stress and prevents the early onset of severe motor symptoms in animal models of PD. Our data indicate that selenoproteins such as SelT, whose levels are increased in PD play a crucial role in protecting dopaminergic neurons against oxidative stress and cell death, thus paving the way for the development of new neuroprotection strategies targeting these proteins in PD

Nowadays, RFID has strongly developed in many industrial applications, including the aeronautics and automotive sectors, where there is a strong demand for auto-identification systems operating in severe environments. In this context, the objective of this thesis is to study the effects of thermal storage on the reliability of passive UHF RFID tags. To achieve this, we adopted a consistent methodology. The first step of this methodology was to choose the tag under test. Two types of tags Web and Tageos from two different manufacturers are aged under high temperatures. The second step was to define the parameters of the aging tests and to characterize the aged tags. Using a dedicated measurement bench, the reflected power is measured after each aging phase for all tested tags to determine the power loss caused by the high temperature storage. Reflected power decrease significantly after each aging phase with different dynamics of degradation for all aged tags. This dynamics of degradation depends on the temperature test and the type of tag. The final step involved statistical and physical failure analysis. Clear differences about modes, mechanisms and failure times between Web and Tageos tags have been observed, it seems that Tageos tags are more reliable than Web tags. Failure analysis of the samples, using an optical microscope and SEM, has revealed, cracks in the antenna metallic conductors on a part of the aged tags. In another part of the tags, no failures in the antenna have been seen, but clear deformations at the polymer matrix of the ACP have been observed, thus changing the impedance matching between the RFIC and the antenna. Simulations using the COMSOL multiphysics software have been implemented in order to reproduce the experimental failure mechanisms. This thesis work has demonstrated the importance of studying the effects of high temperature storage on the reliability of passive RFID tags. Failures appeared faster and tests cost considerably less than other types of accelerated aging tests

Les terpènes représentent plus de 80% des essences naturelles du Maroc, sont de faible coût et très abondants dans la nature, et existent sous forme optiquement pure. Ces composés, de par leur structure qui se prête facilement à des réactions de fonctionnalisations, comportent un ou plusieurs centres de chiralité qui les placent en première ligne comme précurseurs potentiels de coordinats optiquement actifs. Nous nous sommes intéressés à la synthèse de nouveaux ligands chiraux a partir de terpènes naturels. En particulier, nous avons préparé des aminoalcools, diimino et diaminodiols à partir de d'[alpha]-pinène, et des [alpha]-aminooximes, leurs éthers ainsi que leurs diamines correspondantes à partir du limonène. Ces nouveaux coordinats chiraux ont ensuite été appliqués en catalyse asymétrique de transfert d'hydrogène sur des cétones aromatiques sur des complexes à base de métaux de transition, en particulier le ruthénium, et en présence de l'isopropanol comme source d'hydrogène. Ces ligands en comparaison avec la littérature s'avèrent performants en termes d'activité et sont à même d'induire une bonne énantiosélectivité (des excès énantiomériques de l'ordre de 80% ont été obtenu sur certains substrats). Une étude plus approfondie du mécanisme réactionnel a été réalisée avec les ligands [alpha]-aminooximes, dont ce travail présente la première application en catalyse asymétrique
