2 editions published in 1992 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Women whose husbands are migrant workers acquire skills and attitudes to cope with new responsibilities, greater anxieties and being alone. The husbands' migration profile and the degree of their rurality creates the context in which women become accustomed to new work tasks and attain a stable mental attitude. Women who organize a support system around themselves and live in their preferred location adapt more easily. Over time, women make value judgements about their life situation by evaluating compensations against work, worries and aloneness leading to concordance or resignation
