Moving pictures : photography and film in contemporary art by Renate Wiehager( Book )

19 editions published in 2001 in English and held by 228 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"In recent decades, the border areas between photography and film have emerged as an important field of contemporary photographic art. Well-known practitioners include the American artist Cindy Sherman with her "Film Stills," a series of black-and-white self-portraits evoking film stills from the 1940s and 1950s both in form and content, and the Australian Sam Taylor-Wood, whose photographic panoramas - sometimes more than 30 feet long - forge interpersonal dramas from individual pictures, not unlike unrolled scrolls of film. With works by 40 international artists, this book is the first dedicated to a growing artistic fascination. Based on the observation that at the beginning of the 21st century the history of the moving picture is at an end and yielding fast to the reality of accelerated information, the book bridges the gap between the "classical" position of photography and contemporary work using the Internet and other technologies." --BOOK JACKET

Photography as concept = Fotografie als Handlung by Renate Wiehager( Book )

8 editions published in 1998 in 3 languages and held by 183 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Representing a compendium of work by those contemporary artists for whom photography is a means to an end, this book concerns itself with the expanding social, political, and conceptual definitions of photography. Inherent in the book are questions concerning the nature of photography as technological medium, social barometer, and preserver of memory, as well as photography's relationship to video, film, fashion, and mass media. Compiled from the Fourth International Photo Triennial, the book includes work by over 50 artists, from 20 countries
Minimalism in Germany : the sixties = Minimalismus in Deutschland : die 1960er Jahre by Renate Damsch-Wiehager( Book )

9 editions published in 2012 in English and German and held by 153 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Nic Hess : drawing installations 1995-2013 by Nic Hess( Book )

5 editions published in 2014 in English and German and held by 95 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
