Smell colour : chemistry, art and pedagogy by Ernesto Ventós Omedes( Book )

2 editions published in 2011 in English and held by 92 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Just as colours are organized in the visual world according to the Pantone scale, so in the world of smell they are translated into a periodic table derived from chemistry. This exhibition catalog features a total of 88 works by Spanish and international artists, selected on the basis of olfactory criteria. Perfumers and flavourists communicate in a special language of their own, expressed in terms of "olfactory notes." Each of these notes is represented by a particular colour that helps the perfumer or flavourist to create it. This classification system, which combines smell, colour and art, provides the leitmotif of the present exhibition, which offers us a new appreciation of the links within the world of sensory perception and of how the chemical combinations that produce smells can awaken us to new realms of sensation

Architectures without place, 1968-2008( Book )

6 editions published in 2009 in English and held by 64 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The exhibition 'Architectures without Place (1968-2008)' presents a series of works that either were never built or no longer exist: a vast field which ranges from theoretical speculations, visionary prefigurings and ideas competitions to modified projects, ephemeral installations and botched buildings. This variegated realm of the unbuilt (or of the now non-existent) allows us to analyse the conceptual heritage of a long period of Catalonian cultural history; in other words, it lets us dissect forty years of architecture produced locally, highlighting the prevailing ideas at each step of the way. This is a heterogeneous field of project design in which converge other disciplines fuelled by a powerful desire to articulate and transform space: comics, theatre, film, ephemeral installations and the visual arts in general

Nuevos relatos fotográficos = A new generation of photographers by Juan Bufill( Book )

6 editions published in 2016 in Spanish and English and held by 53 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

A New Generation of Photographers' is a statement about a new generation, bringing together important works by 16 emerging photographers. Almost all the participants, from various countries, were born in the 1970s and 1980s. The selection - which includes Laia Abril, Pep Bonet or Cristina de Middel amongst others - focuses on photographers working in Catalonia and Spain. This book offers a perspective on new modes of photographic expression in the twenty first century. The most noteworthy characteristic of the moment has been the rise of group photography, where stories unfold in ways that are narrative, documentary, conceptual and poetical. In terms of subject matter, the photographic series presented here contemplate and consider some of the fundamental0and defining questions of our time. All told, they constitute a reflection on the human condition in these nascent years of the new millennium

Claret Serrahima : from head to feet, graphic design made in Barcelona by Claret Serrahima( Book )

4 editions published in 2011 in English and held by 50 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

.The four chapters in this book focus on different aspects of Serrahima's work, from his conceptual and strategic design to his more free and irreverent works; a compilation of excerpts from his career, work, obsessions and achievements that steals a glance at this hyperactive creator in his most active period with the studio Clase bcn. Taking the view-point of graphic artist and urban cultural activist, the graphic image becomes a narrative line that draws for us the designer, the communicator, the visual chronicler, vocational artist, the draughtsman photographer, the cultural activist--in short, the storyteller
