2 editions published in 2018 in German and held by 92 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

(www.bol.de)
Der Angriff der Gegenwart auf die übrige Zeit & Vermischte Nachrichten by Alexander Kluge( Visual )

2 editions published between 2007 and 2010 in German and held by 30 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Der Angriff der Gegenwart auf die übrige Zeit: In this "film essay," director Alexander Kluge examines the nature of technology and (urban) identity, the intersection of film and new media in the creation of art, and the delusive quest to manipulate time. There are two different stories with both fictional and documentary aspects. In one story, a foster parent cares for a traumatized young girl who is now an orphan after witnessing a car crash that killed both her parents. After the foster-parent does the right thing and takes the girl to her aunt --her court-appointed guardian -- she is shocked to see that neither the wealthy aunt nor her servants are very interested in the girl. An unusual decision follows. In the other story, a director goes blind in the middle of a film project but has to be kept on because of his contract. This situation leads to some philosophizing on the nature of film and art in the modern world

Two Jewish brothers, children of Holocaust survivors, confront the ugly, growing wave of extreme right-wing violence in Germany. It is 1991, and a group of skinheads attack a foreign worker's hostel the same night as a neo-Nazi leader is shot dead. Michael Rosenzweig is the main suspect because he was in the hostel with his Vietnamese girlfriend the night it was attacked. But Michael can't recall what happened that night, and his brother Jacob, a young attorney, takes on his defense. Raises issues about surviving oppressors and victims and asks the question: Are victims permitted to kill in revenge?

Their father, King Creon (Manos Katrakis), mandates that one will be properly honored with a burial, while the other is left to rot in the elements. Creon's daughter, Antigone (Irene Papas), goes against her father's wishes and secretly buries her disgraced brother.. Tragedy unfolds when the king discovers Antigone's misdeed and orders her imprisonment, along with her sister, Ismene (Maro Kontou)

Alma mater( )

1 edition published in 1969 in German and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
