Competition policy in a global economy : Today and tomorrow by Robert Pitofsky( )

3 editions published in 1999 in English and held by 7 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This paper examines the future of antitrust in a global economy. It first traces the developments in procedural coordination and it highlights the slow but steady convergence of review and mutual respect in the relations between the European Union and the US enforcement authorities. The analysis focuses then on the concept of positive comity and on positive comity international agreements, and it addresses the issues raised by the attempts to exercise extraterritorial jurisdiction. The final part deals with the prospects for an international competition code. It argues that, although a comprehensive code is not feasible today, it does not follow that efforts looking towards future convergence are futile.--SCAD summary
