Also included in the collection is a poem-sketchbook of Marietta Tintoretto Thompson, a miniaturist (Killingly and Brooklyn, Ct., ca. 1827) containing verse mostly copied from Byron, Scott and Shakespeare and small pencil drawings of human figures. The Athenaeum also has three loose sketches and her artist's palette. The collection also contains a sketchbook of the artist Cephas Giovanni Thompson (Italy, ca. 1854-57) and loose sketches depicting landscapes, village scenes, monuments and Italian peasants. Finally included in the collection is a small group of letters (1855-62) of Cephas Thompson's youngest son, Julius
