She must be seeing things by Sheila McLaughlin( Visual )

4 editions published between 1987 and 1992 in English and German and held by 124 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

A love affair between a lawyer and a filmmaker is tested when the lawyer, after reading the filmmaker's diary, disguises herself as a man and jealously shadows her lover. The dynamics of sex and sexuality, career and commitment, fidelity and companionship are keenly explored. She Must Be Seeing Things is revelatory for its representation of a new lesbian desire, a politicized eroticism that mirrored the burgeoning butch/femme scene at the time. The film was attacked by anti-porn feminists as it arrived at the height of the feminist 'Sex Wars.' McLaughlin, together with Lizzie Borden and Bette Gordon, formed part of a small school of New York independent filmmakers that explored issues of gender and sexuality that had not until that time been addressed by Third-Wave Feminism, paving the way for future queer representations

Sense of architecture( Visual )

6 editions published between 2007 and 2009 in English and German and held by 25 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The film Sense of Architecture shows 42 contemporary architectural projects of Austrian origins. As an independent work, it emerged from the material for 57 short films that Heinz Emigholz produced for the traveling exhibition conceived in Graz, Sense of Architecture. Unlike the exhibition, which grouped the architecture thematically, the new film assembles the project into a social reality in which modern buildings were constructed for all areas of life. The film begins with a bell tower in the Seetaler Alps and a construction site and then leads through the various stages of a fictive life: from a kindergarten, a single-family home, a botanical garden, a track house, a pharmacy, a housing development, a museum for children, an apartment house with a workshop, a dialect institute, an art house, an office building, a school, a shoe shop, an apartment block, a town hall, a community center, a medical center, past a pedestrian bridge, in a room for studying, an airport tower, a church reconstruction, a community center, a regional exhibition, a residential area, a city council, a renovated castle, a villa, a restaurant, a hall, a building extension, a justice center, a prison, a cloister, an art house, a hospital, a vacation house, a castle, a museum, a stone house, a nursing home, a crematorium, and to a columbarium

Stalingrad by Joseph Vilsmaier; Dominique Horwitz; Thomas Kretschmann; Jochen Nickel; Sebastian Rudolph( Visual )

1 edition published in 2013 in German and held by 24 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

In the spring of 1942, German troops advance deep into the Soviet Union en route to Stalingrad. Hitler seriously misjudging the tenacity of the Red Army is convinced that the city can be conquered before winter. Inadequately clothed and without sufficient food the Nazi troops literally freeze and starve to death largely abandoned by their leaders. For the soldiers Fritz, Hans, Rollo and GeGe the struggle for life has just begun. Gunfire and bombs are only one part of this hell; most of the soldiers will lose the battle against hunger and cold. The film presents this turning point in World War II as a vast tableau of horror in which the average German soldier was as much a victim of Nazi evil as were the Soviet people

Schenec-Tady (I-III), Arrowplane, Tide( Visual )

3 editions published in 2010 in German and held by 14 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The Formative Years I presents the earliest work of acclaimed documentary filmmaker Heinz Emigholz (Schindler's House). His films from the 1970s reveal his ties to legendary experimental filmmakers Michael Snow and Ken Jacobs of the New American Cinema, who were major influences on his work. Emigholz's thought-provoking documentaries represent a link between fine art and filmmaking. In Schenec-Tady I (1972), Schenec-Tady II (1973), Arrowplane (1974), Tide (1974) and Schenec-Tady III (1975), he explores the interplay between the temporal nature of film and still compositions of landscapes. The films consist of thousands of photos, taken frame by frame, cut together to suggest the illusion of time and speed. This release also includes short films made during Emigholz's first years in America, an interview with the filmmaker that details the meaning behind these works, and a booklet that provides a context
