Report on the evaluation of the adoption reunion registry by Richard Sullivan( Book )

5 editions published in 1995 in English and held by 33 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

As part of its contract with Family Services of Greater Vancouver in setting up the Adoption Reunion Registry, the British Columbia Minister of Social Services sought to evaluate the operation of the registry at the point when sufficient reunions had been completed to enable a rigorous evaluation of user satisfaction and recommendations regarding the search and reunion process. This report describes the evaluation methodology and presents the results of the evaluation, which employed a survey mailed to every adoptee and birth parent who had completed a reunion through the Registry prior to March 1994. Issues examined in the survey included the factors in birth mothers' original placement decisions, whether the option of reunion would have affected that decision, whether identifying information should be available to adult applicants, and the availability and degree of satisfaction with reunion services. A copy of the survey questionnaire is included, as well as a summary of response data
