In a short time, Svoray contacted the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles and, with the center's backing, returned to Germany under the name of "Ron Furey," the American representative of a fictitious right-wing organization.
Blood from a stone : the quest for the life diamonds
by Yaron Svoray
(
Book
)
6 editions published between 2003 and 2004 in English and Undetermined and held by 386 libraries worldwide They were known as Life Diamonds--rough uncut diamonds of high quality bought by Jews in Eastern Europe to use as passports to safety. After 1939 and the Nazi blitzkrieg, after the extermination camps began belching black smoke into the skies and the railroad station at Auschwitz II-Birkenau became the busiest train station in the world, they became Death Diamonds. Blood from a Stone is the amazing story of forty of those diamonds, of their journey across continents and oceans, from the mines of South Africa to the diamond centers in Antwerp and Amsterdam, to the Jews of Eastern Europe, to the Death Camps...and to the two American soldiers who liberated them from the SS, finally, and buried them in a forest in Alsace on the border between France and Germany. It is the story of the curse believed to lie over the fabulous wealth of these stones, bringing death and disaster to all who touched them. It is the story of Yaron Svoray, who spent more than a decade in search of one small foxhole somewhere in a thousand square miles of forest...and of his unbelievable success.
Gods of death : around the world, behind closed doors, operates an ultra-secret business of sex and death : one man hunts the truth about snuff films
by Yaron Svoray
(
Book
)
4 editions published in 1997 in English and held by 325 libraries worldwide "Filming an act of sex in which someone is killed should be the stuff of morbid legend. But as Yaron Svoray, an Israeli investigative journalist discovers, snuff films are terrifyingly real. Since viewing one of these films while working on an expose of the German neo-Nazi movement, Svoray has been haunted by the knowledge of such terrifying, twisted documents. In Gods of Death, Svoray's daring and conviction propel the reader through a harrowing chase full of close calls and awful revelations at every turn. His story is a chilling one, a narrative whose unflinching detail awakens us to a nightmarish reality in which no one can be trusted and absolutes are obsolete." "Using skills learned from his days as a detective and a paratrooper, Svoray descends into an international underground of sex, death, and money in order to investigate the snuff film industry. In a tense and sobering final moment in the war zone that is the former Yugoslavia, Svoray finds what he's been looking for - and it's more than he expected." "In this true account, Svoray emerges as a hero. His conscience and courage make Gods of Death an unforgettable journey into the human heart and all it hides."--BOOK JACKET.

2 editions published in 2003 in English and held by 12 libraries worldwide In 1988, Yaron Svoray, an international terror expert, began searching the forested hills outside an ancient walled village near the French-German border. He was looking for a treasure trove of diamonds buried during World War II by 2 GI's from the 7th Army who had taken the gems from the SS officers the soldiers had killed. Svoray's quest consumed fifteen years and led him from South African mines to the diamond centers of Amsterdam and Antwerp, to the Jewish ghettos and shtetls of Eastern Europe and to the Nazi death camps. His investigation produced a momentous discovery that overshadowed Svoray's original monetary motivation for launching the probe.
