The original copy : photography of sculpture, 1839 to today by Roxana Marcoci( Book )

12 editions published in 2010 in English and held by 525 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"The exhibition and book were conceived by Roxana Marcoci ... who organized them around distinct conceptual ideas. Examining the rich historical legacy of photography, and the aesthetic shifts that have taken place in the medium over the last 170 years, she also built on extensive conversations and collaborations with living artists to explore its uses within contemporary art practice. At the same time she asked the question, 'What is sculpture?, ' tracing it through a selection of 300 outstanding pictures that tap on a broad spectrum of expressions, ranging in subject from inanimate objects to the performing human body. The Original Copy incorporates impressive groups of works by many key figures of modernist and avant-garde art"--Page 7

Paul Gauguin : the prints by Tobia Bezzola( Book )

15 editions published in 2012 in English and German and held by 205 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The rarely seen works collected in this volume comprise nearly the entire print output of Paul Gauguin. Universally revered as one of the founding fathers of modern painting, Paul Gauguin was also an accomplished printer. Working mostly in woodcuts, he translated his fascination with life in the South Seas into pieces of extraordinary beauty and simplicity. This volume presents the three print series that Gauguin created: a dozen zinc etchings made in 1889; his most famous series, the partially hand-tinted woodcuts created for his famed book Noa Noa, which were made after Gauguin's first trip to Tahiti; and a third series of woodcuts completed during his second stay on the island. This small printed oeuvre demonstrates how the medium was an ideal outlet for Gauguin's experimental and audacious artistry. 0Exhibition: Kunsthaus Zürich, Switzerland

Socialist architecture : the vanishing act by Armin Linke( Book )

7 editions published between 2011 and 2012 in English and German and held by 99 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Socialist Architecture: The Vanishing Act" is a collaborative project between photographer Armin Linke and architect Srdjan Jovanovic Weiss. Weiss and Linke have worked together since 2009 to visit and document selected examples of ex-Yugoslav Socialist architecture in order to document the state that they are in today. The Socialist Federation of Yugoslavia vanished during the early 1990s and the former Socialist states were Balkanized into a number of emerging democracies. Each of these new states inherited monuments, buildings, landscapes, and infrastructure, which were constructed specifically for the former Socialist context and needs. After Yugoslavia vanished, most of the inherited architecture was left vacant and in a state of limbo between being repurposed and reused for new content, or simply being declared Socialist archeology, and continuing its life as ruins. By creating documentation, "Socialist Architecture: The Vanishing Act" captures the indecision of five particular emerging democracies today: Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia, and Serbia, and the distinct effects their irresolution creates spatially and visually on former Yugoslav architecture
