This study sought to determine if middle school students with higher cardiovascular fitness levels, as measured by the FTINESSFRAM PACER (Progressive Aerobic Cardiovascular Endurance Run) assessment, would have higher scores on the MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) assessment. 226 8th grade students participated in the study. Results showed that a healthy cardiovascular level had no effect on MAP math and reading scores
