Picasso et les femmes by Pablo Picasso( Book )

9 editions published in 2002 in German and English and held by 191 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Niobid, Lola Ruiz, Corina Romeu, Seqora Soler, Sada Yacco, the three Jeannes, Suzanne Bloch, Alice Derain, Fernande Olivier, Gertrude Stein, Eva Gouel, Fanny Tellier, Gabrielle Depeyre, Irhne Lagut, Eugenia Errazuriz, Olga Picasso, Sara Murphy, Marie-Thirhse Walter, Nush Eluard, Lee Miller, Frangoise Gilot and Dora Maar. Picasso painted, drew and sculpted each and every one of these women, and many, many more. The female sex was arguably more important and central to Picasso's oeuvre than to any other in the 20th century. Not only was the content of his work inspired by them, his stylistic development weaved in and out of his passionate, tumultuous romantic relationships, his female friendships, and his affairs with women patrons, family members, models, admirers and others of the fairer sex. "Picasso et Les Femmes" presents all the women through the Picassos they modeled for, photographs from the time, and essays by a wide range of contributors, including Norman Mailer, Ingrid Mvssinger, Diana Widmaier-Picasso, Per Kirkeby, Sabine Rewald, Frangoise Gilot and Angela Rosengart. But though they are seen here through text and image, recollection and fact, this long list of women remains much as Picasso left them, immortal and a mystery

00Exhibition: Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz, Germany (23.11.2014-22.02.2015)

Stille und bewegte Bilder = Images, still and moving by Abbas Kiarostami( Book )

1 edition published in 2012 in German and held by 88 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Abbas Kiarostami (*1940 in Teheran) became known primarily for his films made in the seventies, which were awarded prizes at film festivals such as Cannes (Golden Palm 1997) and Venice. Despite large-scale solo exhibitions at institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the photographic oeuvre of this artist, who studied painting, has yet to be showcased in germanophone countries. Whereas Kiarostami's films contain haunting images of the human experience, he trains his photographic eye on untouched landscapes, often taking years to develop the images into series such as 'Snow White' (1978-2004) and 'Rain and Wind' (2007)

Chemnitz is closely associated with the work of Henry van de Velde. In 1902/03, he received his first German architectural commission when he designed Villa Esche. On Van de Velde's recommendation, Edvard Munch was commissioned to paint the family's portraits. To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of both artists, the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz is hosting a wide-ranging exhibition, presenting all aspects of Van de Velde's work. In this special exhibition and the accompanying catalogue, the Belgian artist is presented as a universal artist, architect, interior designer and designer. More than 300 objects - furniture, textiles, silver, ceramics, porcelain, works on paper - feature in this exhibition.
