Logbook of Capt. Irvine S. Bulloch, Acting Master of Confederate States of America cruiser Shenandoah, Capt. James I. Waddell, commanding. Contains a list of officers on board and notes of the ships captured, the value of their cargoes, and the disposition of the prize (some were ransomed and others were burned). At the beginning of the period covered by the log, the ship set sail in the general direction of Australia and arrived at Melbourne, Jan. 25, 1865. After it left Australia and headed northward toward Hawaii, it attacked many whaling vessels. Included in the collection is a printed circular by R.C. Wyllie, with four manuscript endorsements relative to claims of Hackfeld & Company, 1865 Aug 12-Dec. 2, against the Confederate steamer Shenandoah for burning the Hawaiian bark Harvest
