Founded five decades ago, when businessman Ciccillo Matarazzo donated to MAM an exquisite collection, the MAC-USP developed a strong collection of paintings produced in Italy between 1946 and 1947. The 71 works exhibited represent a panorama of the aesthetics of Italy in the first half of the last century and its relationship with the Brazilian production of the same period. It is possible, for example, to notice the earthy tones and angular faces of Di Cavalcanti "Mulheres" similarities with Massimo Campligi; the painting "Invocaçao" by Marco Sironi recalls the social concern present in the work of Portinari. The collection includes works by Aldo Bonadei, Guignard, Clóvis Graciano and others. The jewels of the collection, however, are two still-lifes of the brilliant colorist Giorgio Morandi, in particular an incredible 1946 oil
