Performed by ARIA-Award winner Tamara-Anna Cislowska and the composer herself, Butterflying is the first major survey of the piano music of Elena Kats-Chernin. Butterflying presents the full range of Kats-Chernin's extraordinary compositional palette: irresistibly lyrical works such as Waltz of Things Past and Butterflying (originally composed for the opening ceremony of the 2003 Rugby World Cup), rags and waltzes, and iconic works such as Eliza Aria and Slicked Back Tango. The album features 14 world premiere recordings. Many of the pieces are performed solo by Tamara-Anna Cislowska. Others are presented in versions for piano four hands, with Elena joining Tamara-Anna to resume their long-standing friendship and collaboration in performances which are half-composed, half-improvised

[film-dienst]

"A tale of five young Berliners - a taxi driver, a traveling wine dealer, a record shop sales girl, a film extra and a model - spending a typical Sunday. In this vivid snapshot of Berlin life, a trip to the countryside reveals the flirtations, rivalries, jealousies, and petty irritations common to any group outing. All too soon it is the end of the day, and the prospect of Monday looms, and the return to the weekday routine"--Container
The divorce( Visual )

1 edition published in 2016 in English and held by 44 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The Divorce is an opera written specifically for the screen, rethinking the operatic art form for a contemporary film and television audience. Iris and Jed, rich and urbane, are happily getting divorced and are throwing an elaborate party at their elegant home to celebrate. By the end of the evening, Iris and Jed's divorce has triggered a renegotiation of all certainties. Humorous, witty and complex, this soap opera is a light-hearted exploration of the universal themes of love, passion, regret, greed and longing: a celebration of the profound in the shallow

1 edition published in 2011 in English and held by 36 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Erwin drives taxi #1A 10088. Brigitte is a salesperson in a music store. Wolfgang has been many things, but is now a traveling wine salesman. Christl is a film extra. Annie is a fashion model. Berlin. One Satuday. One Sunday. On their day off in Weimar-era Berlin, four of these five spend the day by the Nikolassee lakeside. Amidst flirtation, they play records, swim, picnic and walk in the forest, enjoying a respite from city life, and the everyday grind that they cannot escape. In a manner prefiguring the Italian Neorealists, these non-actors play versions of themselves in loosely outlined scenarios. The sense of what an ordinary day might have been like in this particular place and time is enchantingly captured in this bit of cinematic amber
