Les algorithmes utilisés en design géométrique permettent de construire des courbes paramétrées dans l'espace des polynômes. Ces algorithmes se transcrivent élégamment et simplement grâce à l'outil des floraisons (formes à pôles). L'intérêt des floraisons se manifeste également dans la possibilité qu'elles offrent de généraliser les algorithmes de design pour générer des courbes paramétrées dans les espaces de Chebyshev. Nous utilisons les floraisons dans le cadre des processus de subdivision et nous montrons comment cet outil s'adapte aussi bien aux processus stationnaires, qui permettent d'obtenir des splines polynomiales, qu'aux processus non stationnaires qui aboutissent aux splines de Chebyshev. Enfin cette "modélisation algorithmique" des processus de subdivision par les floraisons rend possible la création d'algorithmes permettant d'engendrer des splines constitués de morceaux en provenances de plusieurs espaces fonctionnels de types différents

Most of navigation system dedicated to interventional radiology make the assumption that needles stay straight during insertions in tissues. In practice, this hypothesis is not verified as the interactions between needles and surrounding tissues cause the needles to bend, resulting in a loss of accuracy. My PhD thesis is a part of the national projet GAME-D whose goal is to solve that problem by developing and studying instrumented needles which should eventually provide 3D deformed shape of the needle to clinicians in real-time. My reasearch work focus on reconstruction of deformed needle shape from its strain sensors data. Precision needed for clinical use faces technical limitations which restraint number of sensors embedded on the needle. Methods developped to adress this issue fall into one of these two categories: sensors data retrieving and sensors data processing. Use of beam theory to study sensors deformations gives strain information such as torsion. It also allows to develop reconstruction methods able to use these informations to gain accuracy. An optimization method of the sensors positions based on needle insertions experimental data is proposed. Sensors optimal positions make sensors data much more significant. A statistical processing of experimental data is performed to extract deformation features of needles in tissue. It is further used in a a specially built reconstruction method. Representativeness of these features improve the reconstrution of the deformed shape of the needle

This thesis is related to air traffic management systems current changes. On the ground and in flight, trajectory calculation methods and available data differ. Wind and temperature are two ubiquitous parameters that are subject to and cause prediction bias. We propose a concept to limit this bias. Our "Wind and Temperature Networking" concept improves trajectory prediction, using wind and temperature information from neighboring aircraft. We detail the effects of temperature on the aircraft performances, allowing for temperature to be taken into account. The concept evaluation is done on 8000 flights. We discuss the calculation of optimal trajectories in the presence of predicted winds, to replace the current North Atlantic Tracks, and to provide optimized and robust groups of trajectories. The conclusion of this thesis presents other fields of wind sharing applications, and addresses the need for new telecommunications infrastructures and protocols

In the context of the future Air Traffic Management system (ATM), one objective is to reduce the environmental impact of air traffic. With respect to this criterion, the “freeroute” concept, introduced in the mid 1990's, is well suited to improve over nowadays airspace based ATM. Aircraft will no longer be restricted to fly along airways and may fly along fuel-optimal routes. The objective of this thesis is to introduce a novel pretactical trajectory planning methodology which aims at minimizing airspace congestion while taking into account weather conditions so as to minimize also fuel consumption.The development of the method was divided in two steps. The first step is dedicated to compute a time-optimal route for one aircraft taking into account wind conditions. This optimization is based on an adaptation of the Ordered Upwind Method on the sphere.The second step introduces a hybrid algorithm, based on simulated annealing and on the deterministic algorithm developed in the first step, in order to minimize congestion. Thus the algorithm combines the ability to reach a globally-optimal solution with a local-search procedure that speeds up the convergence
