Para quien ha tenido siempre fama, merecida o no, de autor opaco, oscuro, o hermético, el término "lúcida" aplicada a una historia o narración de Eugenio d'Ors no deja de tener gracia y despertar interés. "Narraciones", o "historias lúcidas", no llegó nunca a ser, finalmente, un título utilizado por el mismo autor para calificar una serie de textos narrativos de su autoría. Pero estuvo casi a punto. Se recupera aquí el título Historias lúcidas para presentar una selección de novelas orsianas que no figuran entre las más conocidas, divulgadas o debatidas. Se trata de Sijé, Oceanografía del tedio, Magín, El sueño es vida, Historia de las esparragueras y Aldemaediana. Es evidente que existe un dÓrs narrador, y hasta novelista, que se dio a conocer en los años veinte, una época de evidente crisis de la ficción narrativa, y que hoy es injustamente desconocido. Ors publicó narraciones y novelas, dobladas de ensayos, híbridas, fragmentarias y discontinuas, estáticas, contemplativas y filosóficas, ciertamente, pero se trata de obras de un gran interés que pueden ser leídas hoy como variantes de la modernidad novelística de un momento en que las vanguardias socavaban la noción misma de relato
