in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

Julia Vincent Cross was a successful ballet dancer and teacher who studied with Alexandre Volinine of the Ballets Russes, among others. She danced with Volinine's company, the Mordkin Ballet, and briefly with the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo. The collection consists primarily of documentation of her career through performance photographs, correspondence with organizations and artist agents, performance programs and flyers, two publications, and three notebooks, one of which is a unique collection of detailed choreographic notes describing dances attributed to Mordkin, Volinine, Isadora Duncan and others, as well as her own choreography. A small amount also documents the artistic career of her husband, Philip Evergood. Cross's family history is documented through a family scrapbook kept by her father, materials detailing the artistic activity of her husband Philip Evergood (1901-1972), personal photographs, and legal correspondence relating to the Cross and Evergood estates
