Guidelines for use of incinerator residue as highway construction material by R. J Collins ( Book )
2 editions published in 1977 in English and held by 91 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
This manual contains background information on the composition and characteristics of basic types of incinerator residues. A recommend classification system is presented. The use of incinerator residues in structural fill, stabilized base, and bituminous paving applications are discussed. Included are specific recommendations for materials handling and preparation, laboratory testing procedures, engineering properties, and design and construction procedures for these applications. This manual also includes recommended laboratory test procedures for determining the loss on ignition and physical composition of incinerator residue samples. A separate section is devoted to a summary of situations which are favorable, as well as unfavorable, to the utilization of municipal incinerator residue in highway or street construction. This manual discusses unfused residues from incinerator and pyrolysis operations
Use of waste and recycled materials as aggregates : standards and specifications by R. J Collins ( Book )
4 editions published in 1995 in English and held by 56 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Technology for use of incinerator residue as highway material : identification of incinerator practices and residue sources by Valley Forge Laboratories ( Book )
2 editions published in 1975 in English and held by 40 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
A survey was made of present municipal incineration practices in the United States and other countries. Previous world-wide research and development work on the use of incinerator residues as highway material is summarized. The types, quantities, and locations of municipal incinerator residues produced in this country were determined. The predominant factors affecting residue quality are the nature of the burning action and the degree of burn-out. Six basic types of incinerator residues were identified according to a classification system based on incinerator design
Better business intelligence : how to learn more about your competitors by R. J Collins ( Book )
2 editions published between 1995 and 1997 in English and held by 21 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Porous aggregates in concrete : jurassic limestones by R. J Collins ( Book )
12 editions published between 1986 and 2004 in English and held by 21 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Magnesium limestone aggregate in concrete : performance, durability, testing, European standards by R. J Collins ( Book )
7 editions published between 1991 and 1998 in English and held by 18 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Magnesian limestones have frequently been compared unfavourably with harder and more consistent materials such as Carboniferous limestone. Research has shown that concrete can nevertheless be made to a consistently high grade using coarse aggregate from crushed Magnesian limestone in combination with a natural sand. Greater use could also be made of sand from crushed Magnesian limestone. This paper will help those responsible for the design and specification of concrete mixes and for planning sources of aggregates in future years
Subprime ( Visual )

Waste materials as potential replacements for highway aggregates by Richard Henry Miller ( Book )
1 edition published in 1976 in English and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
This report documents and presents the results of a comprehensive survey of the technical and economic optential for making use of waste materials as alternative aggregates in highway construction and maintenance. The survey included an assessment of the availability of conventional aggregates to determine where competitive opportunities for the introduction of new materials are most likely to exist. Information was obtained from over 300 relevant documents and supplemented by numerous contacts with agencies and individuals in both the highway and waste management fields
Infrared detectors, laser technology and signal processing ( Book )
3 editions published between 1969 and 1971 in English and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
During the third year of the grant research was carried out in the areas of CO2 laser technology, photoelectric detection in the near infrared, the helium-neon-cadmium laser system, mass spectroscopy of CO2:N:He discharges, optical heterodyning, optically induced scattering in solids, and studies on mixtures of formic acid and nitrogen forming a CO2 laser by dissociation. In the sections of the report summaries of each phase is given. The measurement of gain profiles in CO2 lasers has lead to the construction of a high gain CO2 amplifier, and detailed knowledge of the generation of multiple beams in solids through optically induced phase gratings.
