Artificial evolution : 4th European conference, AE '99, Dunkerque, France, November 3-5, 1999 : selected papers by Gerhard Goos( )

2 editions published in 2000 in English and held by 6 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The Arti?cial Evolution conference was originally conceived as a forum for the French-speaking Evolutionary Computation community, but has of late been acquiring an European audience, with several papers from Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain... However, AE remains as intended a small and friendly gathering, which will continue to be held every two years. Previous AE meets were held in Toulouse, Brest, and Nˆ ?mes. This year, the hosting was done by the LIL (Laboratoire d'Informatique du Littoral) in the not-so-cold city of Dunkerque. The invited talk on "Fitness Landscapes and Evolutionary Algorithms" was delivered by Colin Reeves of Coventry University This volume contains a selection of the papers presented at the conference. Twenty-seven papers were presented orally at the conference, selected from over 40 papers refereed by the program committee. After the conference, each p- sentation was reviewed and 20 papers were retained and revised for publication in this volume. The papers in this volume have been grouped into the following ?ve sections which more or less re?ect the organization of the oral presentations. 1. Invited Paper: C. Reeves brightly describes the state of the art in Fitness Landscapes
Combiner la programmation en logique et la résolution des contraintes par évaluation partielle : Conslog by J.-K Hao( Book )

2 editions published in 1991 in French and held by 4 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

CETTE THESE EST UNE CONTRIBUTION A LA PROGRAMMATION EN LOGIQUE AVEC CONTRAINTES (CLP). DANS UN SYSTEME CLP, NOUS DISTINGUONS DEUX ASPECTS: L'INFERENCE LOGIQUE QUI EST DOMAINE INDEPENDANT ET LA RESOLUTION DES CONTRAINTES QUI EST DOMAINE DEPENDANT. DANS LES SYSTEMES CLP EXISTANTS, CES DEUX ASPECTS SONT ETROITEMENT LIES (INTEGRATION FORTE), CE QUI POSE DES PROBLEMES D'IMPLANTATION, D'EXTENSIBILITE ET DE PERFORMANCE. DANS CETTE THESE, APRES UNE ANALYSE DE CES PROBLEMES, NOUS ETUDIONS UNE APPROCHE VISANT A REALISER UNE INTEGRATION FAIBLE DE L'INFERENCE LOGIQUE ET DE LA RESOLUTION DES CONTRAINTES. NOUS PROPOSONS DANS CE CADRE UNE ARCHITECTURE MODULAIRE POUR LA CONSTRUCTION DE SYSTEMES CLP, EN FAISANT ABSTRACTION AU NIVEAU LANGAGE, DES DOMAINES DE CALCUL. LA MODULARITE ASSURE QU'UN TEL SYSTEME EST RELATIVEMENT FACILE A CONSTRUIRE ET EXTENSIBLE. L'ARCHITECTURE FACILITE LA REALISATION D'IMPLANTATIONS EFFICACES, EN EVITANT DES TRAITEMENTS REPETITIFS MAIS AUSSI EN PERMETTANT L'UTILISATION DE TECHNIQUES DE RESOLUTION DE CONTRAINTES EXISTANTES. LE PROTOTYPE CONSLOG EST PRESENTE POUR VALIDER L'APPROCHE PROPOSEE. CONSLOG EST UN SYSTEME CLP (EXTENSIBLE) DANS LES DOMAINES FINIS ENTIERS POSITIFS. IL COMPORTE DEUX COMPOSANTS INDEPENDANTS: UN EVALUATEUR PARTIEL QUI EFFECTUE LES INFERENCES LOGIQUES ET COLLECTE LES CONTRAINTES, ET UN SOLVEUR QUI RESOUT LES CONTRAINTES COLLECTEES. CE PROTOTYPE OPERATIONNEL, IMPLANTE EN PROLOG NOUS A PERMIS D'EXPERIMENTER DIFFERENTES TECHNIQUES DE RESOLUTION DE CONTRAINTES SUR DE NOMBREUX EXEMPLES. NOS TRAVAUX APPORTENT UNE VUE NOUVELLE SUR LA CONSTRUCTION DES SYSTEMES CLP
Approches hybrides pour les problèmes multiobjectifs by Vincent Barichard( Book )

2 editions published in 2003 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This thesis deals with the resolution of multiobjective optimization problems. Our contributions are of three types : first, we develop for the multiobjective mul-dimensionnal knapsack problem some original algorithms based on Tabu search or evolutionary algorithms. Through out the experiments, we show the importance of diversity and of its efficient management during the search. Subsequently, we develop for multiobjective continuous problems with constraints an original method which is mainly based on a representation with intervals, constraint propagation methods, local search processes and evolutionary concepts. Finally, we generalize our approach in order to draw up a formal model which may be the center of an algorithm family that result from the same pattern
A three-phased local search approach for the clique partitioning problem by Yi Zhou( )

Approches hybrides pour les problèmes CSP by Hervé Deleau( Book )

2 editions published in 2005 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

In this thesis, we propose a generic hybrid approach to solve Constraints Satisfaction Problems (CSP). After having presented the CSP and the methods usually used to solve them, we present our approach, combining strategies inspired of arborescent search and local search. The unifying framework is that of an individuals population, which correspond, with not solutions, but with subsets of the search space. The constraint propagation and the domain splitting contribute to reduce individuals to subsets more restricted. Local search examnines solutions in an individual. Our approach is experiments evaluated on a problems set. Lastly, we propose new prospects and possible adaptation of our approach on other problems types
