Reza Abdoh( Book )

7 editions published in 1999 in English and held by 300 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Incorporating interviews, critical essays, reviews, and the complete text of the play The Hip-Hop Waltz of Eurydice, Reza Abdoh is a comprehensive introduction to this influential and controversial theater artist. By the time he died of AIDS in the spring of 1995 at age 32, Reza Abdoh had written, assembled, and directed well over a dozen works for the stage. In this first complete account of his career, Abdoh emerges as an internationally acclaimed artist who was influenced by a wide range of cultures and sources. Yet he is also distinctly American: a visionary who drew heavily on popular culture to expose sexual, racial, and media obsessions in American society. Despite this influence, Abdoh's works are not typical of American theater, according to theater critic Daniel Mufson, because they vehemently reject sentimentality and happy endings."--Jacket
Jeff Wall : specific pictures by Stefan Gronert( Book )

1 edition published in 2016 in English and held by 75 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Joseph Beuys, Titus/Iphigenie : Abisag Tüllmann, Photographien by Joseph Beuys( Book )

1 edition published in 2018 in German and held by 13 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Grace Kelly : film stills : from her Hollywood films 1951-1956 by Thilo Wydra( Book )

1 edition published in 2014 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

Her marriage to Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1956 put an end to Grace Kelly's promising movie career. Born the daughter of a wealthy construction company owner from Philadelphia in 1929, her wedding day gave her a new role: the princess and first lady of the Monegasques. Her career started in 1952 with Fred Zinnemann's Western classic High Noon. Her final picture, released in the year of her princely wedding, was titled High Society-- a peculiar irony of history. Of the eleven movies Grace Kelly made in just four years, the three Hitchcock classics Dial M for Murder, Rear Window (both in 1954), and To Catch A Thief (1955) undoubtedly represent great moments in cinematic history. Blonde, beautiful, and always somewhat reserved, she was the ideal choice for his black comedies. Paying homage to Grace Kelly, the actress and film star who went on to become Princess Grace of Monaco before suffering a fatal car accident in 1982, our book is also an oblique tribute to her favorite director, Alfred Hitchcoc
