Metropolis by Fritz Lang( Visual )

4 editions published in 2010 in No Linguistic content and English and held by 761 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"The future. Metropolis is a wonderful city, high above the ground its towers stand. The people prosper, the economy is flourishing, the suspended streets are busy. But Metropolis also has a great secret, so hidden that not even Freder Fredersen, son of founder Joh Fredersen knows about it. He is spending his free time in the Eternal Gardens, when suddenly a woman shows up, with what looks like a class of children. They're from the City of Workers, in the depth, Freder learns. "These are your brothers," she tells the children, before she is forced to leave. Freder is so intrigued he follows them into the depth and doesn't like what he sees. The workers are exploited, they must do labor like robots. Freder tries to convince his father to change, while the woman tries to keep workers' morale high by predicting a man will stand up that will mediate. Someone that will use both hands and head, someone that will be the heart." -- This newly restored version of the film is the closest yet to the version Fritz Lang debuted to theatrical audiences in 1927 Berlin. In 2008, a duplicate negative created from an original 1927 Argentinian theatrical print was discovered in Buenos Aires' Museo del Cine. Extensive preservation work on that and other footage, in addition to a newly acquired copy of Gottfried Huppertz' original performance score, and intertitles translated into English from German censorship records, has led to a newly edited story line, with rearranged shots and scenes

"At 20,000 feet, Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa's highest peak and also the world's tallest volcano ... A trek up its steep flanks takes climbers through five different worlds of climate and vegetation, ranging from rainforest near the bottom to arctic ramparts of ice surrounding a rocky crater at the peak. Kilimanjaro is not only a nature-lover's paradise, but also a tantalizing mystery for many scientists. The glacier atop the mountain has shrunk by over a third in the last decade due to global warming, and could disappear altogether by 2015. And although classified as dormant, Kilimanjaro has begun to stir, and evidence suggests that a massive landslide could rip open the side of the mountain causing a cataclysmic flow of hot gases and rock, similar to Mount St. Helens. NOVA takes an unusual expedition to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro to investigate these two scientific mysteries."--Container
Alle anderen = Everyone else by Maren Ade( Visual )

4 editions published in 2010 in German and held by 353 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Chris and Gitti are a mismatched young German couple involved in a tense, dynamic relationship. He's a tall, pasty, good-looking, charming but distant guy with a weak chin and a worried expression; she's small and robust, a blunt, childlike, free-spirited, boisterous bundle of nervous energy. They are a couple struggling for definition against bourgeois norms, and the film examines their relationship in the petri dish of a vacation at his parents' haute-bourgeois, kitsch-stuffed Sardinian villa. Alternately loving and bickering with each other--and apparently thinking this makes them unique--their relationship is cemented with invented private riffs on a shared sense of humor. An encounter with a former schoolmate of Chris's and his wife prompts changes that may be good, or may spell out the warning in the writing on the wall
