The first snow of the season prompts the Old Ranger to close down Yellowstone National Park for the season. After decorating the Christmas tree the two little bears, Chinook and Nikomis, come to the Ranger's cabin where he tells them about Christmas. Returning to their home in a cave, Nana the Mother Bear insists they hibernate for the winter. The Old Ranger, dressed as Santa Claus decides to pay the small bears a visit but is delayed by a horrible blizzard. In the meantime, the real Santa arrives at the cave loaded with gifts. Outside the cave everyone watches as jolly old St. Nick and his faithful reindeer mount to the sky and ride out of sight.
