5 editions published in 2017 in English and German and held by 38 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the Second International Workshop on Computer Assisted and Robotic Endoscopy, CARE 2015, held in conjunction with MICCAI 2015, in Munich, Germany, in October 2015. The 15 revised full papers were carefully selected out of 20 initial submissions and focus on recent technical advances associated with computer vision; graphics; robotics and medical imaging; external tracking systems; medical device control systems; information processing techniques; endoscopy; planning and simulation
Medical image computing and computer-assisted intervention - MICCAI 2013 : 16th International Conference, Nagoya, Japan, September 22-26, 2013, Proceedings by Kensaku Mori( Book )

29 editions published in 2013 in English and held by 26 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The three-volume set LNCS 8149, 8150, and 8151 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 16th International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Intervention, MICCAI 2013, held in Nagoya, Japan, in September 2013. Based on rigorous peer reviews, the program committee carefully selected 262 revised papers from 789 submissions for presentation in three volumes. The 95 papers included in the first volume have been organized in the following topical sections: physiological modeling and computer-assisted intervention; imaging, reconstruction, and enhancement; registration; machine learning, statistical modeling, and atlases; computer-aided diagnosis and imaging biomarkers; intraoperative guidance and robotics; microscope, optical imaging, and histology; cardiology, vasculatures and tubular structures; brain imaging and basic techniques; diffusion MRI; and brain segmentation and atlases
The olfactory system : from odor molecules to motivational behaviors by Kensaku Mori( Book )

2 editions published in 2014 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This book summarizes recent advances in understanding of the mammalian and fish olfactory system and provides perspective on the translation of external odor information into appropriate motivational and behavioral responses. Following the discovery of the odorant receptor gene family in 1991, understanding of the basic biological mechanisms of the olfactory system has advanced enormously. Despite such rapid progress, however, it remains unclear how odor information is processed at levels beyond the olfactory bulb, including the olfactory cortex, olfactory tubercle, and orbitofrontal cortex. This book thus describes the most recent developments in olfactory research, with particular focus on the basic neurobiological mechanisms of the neuronal circuit function in the olfactory system and its related higher centers. Exploring the basic functional logic of the neuronal circuits in the olfactory system in this way appears to be crucial in understanding the workings of the complex neuronal circuits of the brain, particularly those in the cerebral cortex that link sensory perception to appropriate behavioral responses. This book is written for the coming generation of scientists: undergraduates, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers in the fields of neuroscience, neurobiology, chemical senses, food and nutritional sciences, medical science, sensory psychology, and behavioral sciences
