Mathematical support for molecular biology : papers related to the special year in mathematical support for molecular biology, 1994-1998 by Martin Farach-Colton( Book )

9 editions published in 1999 in English and held by 196 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Symposium on Simplicity in Algorithms by Symposium on Simplicity in Algorithms( )

2 editions published in 2020 in English and held by 43 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The first Symposium on Simplicity in Algorithms showed that there was profound interest in a venue with the Algorithms community for simplification results. The second SOSA lived up to the expectations for excellence established in the first year. Now, with this third installment of SOSA, we are being to see what this conference will look like in its maturity
2021 Proceedings of the Symposium on Algorithm Engineering and Experiments (ALENEX)( )

2 editions published between 2002 and 2021 in English and held by 34 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The aim of ALENEX is to provide a forum for the presentation of original research in the design, implementation, and experimental evaluation of algorithms and data structures. Typical submissions will include an extensive experimental analysis of nontrivial algorithmic results, ideally bridging the gap between theory and practice. We also invite submissions that address methodological issues and standards in the experimental evaluation of algorithms and data structures. Some possible areas of applied algorithmic research include but are not limited to databases; networks, including web applications; operations research; and computational problems in the natural sciences or engineering. Submissions are encouraged that address algorithms and data structures for advanced models of computing including memory hierarchies and parallel computing, ranging from instruction parallelism over multicore computing to exascale and cloud computing
Proceedings the Fourteenth Annual ACM-SIAM Symposium on Discrete Algorithms( )

3 editions published in 2003 in English and held by 22 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

From the January 2003 symposium come just over 100 papers addressing a range of topics related to discrete algorithms. Examples of topics covered include packing Steiner trees, counting inversions in lists, directed scale-free graphs, quantum property testing, and improved results for directed multicut. The papers were not formally refereed, but attempts were made to verify major results. Annotation (c)2003 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)

Eighth Mexican International Conference on Current Trends in Computer Science, 2007 ENC 2007 ; 24 - 28 Sept. 2007, Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico( )

1 edition published in 2007 in English and held by 19 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Annotation, ENC 2007 is a multi-track conference around a hot topic for the Mexican research community. This year the trend/topic is information processing and retrieval from three points of view. The first track is about classical information retrieval and the web with standard methods. The second track focuses on data analysis and management, that is, the frontier between pattern recognition and databases, where large-scale applications need to handle and retrieve multimedia and complex objects. The third track focuses on the user-driven software systems motivated by the above problems.Contents: Information Retrieval, Scalable Pattern Recognition, User Centered Software Information Systems, Collaborative Systems, Information Security, Database and Distributed Systems, Software Engineering and Ubiquitous Computing

Mathematical Support for Molecular Biology by Martin Farach-Colton( )

1 edition published in 1999 in English and held by 10 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This volume features highlights from the DIMACS Special Year on "Mathematical Support for Molecular Biology". Top researchers presented both new research results and comprehensive overviews on the use of mathematics (especially discrete mathematics) and theoretical computer science in molecular biology. The book provides a unique "snapshot" of this growing area of study. It will be of interest to both experts and novices seeking information on the state of the research

Efficient systems biology algorithms for biological networks over multiple time-scales: From evolutionary to regulatory time by Antonina Mitrofanova( )

1 edition published in 2009 in English and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Finally, we have integrated many of these techniques into one tool to create a novel analysis of malaria parasite P. falciparum's life-cycle at the scale of reaction-time, single cell level, and encompassing its entire inter-erythrocytic developmental cycle (IDC). Our approach allows connecting time-course gene expression profiles of consecutive IDC stages in order to assign functions to unannotated Malaria proteins and predict potential targets for vaccine and drug development
