The evolution of Austrian economics : from Menger to Lachmann by Sandye Gloria-Palermo( Book )

17 editions published between 1999 and 2014 in English and held by 175 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This volume argues against the dominant orthodoxy in the history of economic thought and for the originality of Carl Mengers contribution to the development of the Austrian school of economics. Situating the evolution of Menger's thought in the tradition of classical political economy, the author documents the emergence of a Mengerian logic and its contribution to the formation of a distinctly Austrian tradition of economics

L'école économique autrichienne by Sandye Gloria-Palermo( Book )

7 editions published between 2012 and 2013 in French and Undetermined and held by 106 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Modern Austrian economics( Book )

8 editions published in 2002 in English and held by 12 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The late 20th century has witnessed a resurgence of interest in the Austrian tradition in economics. However where once studies concentrated on the major theorists in the field, new directions are emerging. This edition takes up where Kirzner (Classics in Austrian Economics, Pickering & Chatto, 1995) and Littlechild (Austrian Economics, Edward Elgar, 1990) left off. The collected texts in this edition concern the post-1970s area of the Austrian tradition, from its revival to its contemporary directions and development. In particular, there is an increasing interest in the relationship of Austrian economics to the three fields of Institutionalism, Evolution, and Post-Keynesian economics. This edition comprises a collection of key and lesser-known texts in these areas to present a look at "the way forward" in Austrian economics

3 editions published between 1996 and 1997 in French and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The aim of the dissertation is to surround the essence of the austrian tradition defined as the whole extensions and deepenings of the principles set by menger since 1871. First, we had to specify the fondamental concepts. Of menger's analysis and second, to examine how, these basements evolved through the different generations of austrians authors. Chapter i deals with the mengerian originality, confronted with the rising marginalist stream. Chapter ii analyses the process of absorption through which, since wieser and bohm-bawerk till the interwar period, the mengerian originality was progressively lost within neoclassical economics. Chapter iii studies the circonstances that lead to the rediscovery of mengerian themes, as a consequence of the planning debate. Chapter iv stresses the limits of the different lines of the modern austrian revival. It argues that the approach advocated by lachmann represent the only possible way of developpement for the modern austrian and mengeria tradition. The last chapter deepens the analytical directions such a research programme could take

2 editions published in 2013 in French and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

1 edition published in 2015 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

The aim of this thesis is to contribute to the social security reform debate which is becoming an up-to-date concern with an aging population context. In this research, we analyze the impact of the macroeconomic and welfare effects of the pay-as-you-go system and of its reform especially during the transition. In this perspective we developed an overlapping generation model based on a general equilibrium framework. Our model takes into account the evolution of the Tunisian demographic structure. Results from simulations suggest that a social security reform combining a decrease in the replacement rate, an increase in the contribution rate and a five year increase in the retirement age have positive financial effects. However, it has negative effects on savings and on capital stock in the economy. According to our model, a fully funded pillar introduction, keeping total contribution rate constant, has a positive impact on macroeconomic variables. Nevertheless, this reform hurts the transitional generations welfare. Using these results, we propose a two-step reform of the Tunisian retirement system which introduces a fully funded pillar. This reform proposal can insure financial equilibrium of the retirement system until 2040
